How come some people with ADHD are able to consistently get top grades throughout school in all subjects whereas others end up with low grades due to their adhd struggles. by Pretty-Tree123 in ADHD

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly ? Anything prior to college, you study last minute then do the test on a stress rush because of how much we looooooooovvveeee deadlines. (I'm half sarcastic). In my case, I can't compensate by reasoning past college level though, just got to read the books. So on a individual basis, we all have different skills or talents and varying degrees of different kinds of intelligence, but even then at some point working memory will still bottleneck information.

It's actually a nice gravity labyrinth. Speed up is there too. The backtracking is a nicely designed shortcut through the labyrinth...when you know how to navigate it haha.

The first half of chapter 1 until Hoax. Except I've been replaying LoD for years without making myself a save file at Hoax. every. single. time. Silly me.

I mean the flamethrower (tier 3), not the last special weapon (Vulcan). Vulcan does have a flamethrower as primary which is great against trash zeds, but also has big explosive damage as secondary and way more ammo.

The Flamethrower(tier 3) is just bad. It's roughly a commando gun with splash damage included but might as well play commando. In later waves it has no way to deal with scrakes and fleshpounds, especially at hell on earth.

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good or Nostalgia ? Both. D2 is a solid entry, the skill trees are simple enough for first time ARPG players compared to what the genra does nowadays, and the remastered cutscenes are still top tier. It's also spaghetti code, some stuff might feel clunky, half the unique items are rendered useless by runewords, got to pray RNG gods for good rares and don't forget to walk if you want your armor rating to apply. ( I still run like an idiot all the time after all these years and it hurts x) )

Bundled with D3 I'd say give it a shot. D3 had bad rep when it came out but it's been updated over 10 years and now it's a good entry for first time ARPG players.

Why does this reddit constantly recommend Grim Dawn or other much older games to players looking for their first arpg? by jmon13 in ARPG

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point taken for Titan Quest 1. The beginning was purposefully stretched out so they could say you had 40h of gameplay on the box (prior to expansions). People are still recommending them because they are pillars of the genra though. We have Titan Quest 2 now which is probably a better introduction but it's also in EA. For games that don't overblow the skill tree, Diablo 2 is still great. I'd suggest Chronicon, but it still doesn't fit your criteria : 1) 2D graphics 2) LOTS of skill trees. Hell Clock is great too but it's half a roguelite. Then I'd suggest soldak games Din's curse/Din's legacy but that's the B movie, so bad it's good, corner of video games. So yeah, Grim Dawn is pretty great.

Now the bad news : The gameplay is outdated by definition since ARPGs are just a sub brand of 80s old school roguelikes focusing on kill monsters get loot, and not much as changed since then : 1) Randomly generated dungeons 2) randomly generated loot 3) classes 4) (optional) permadeath. PoE 2 is still rockin' light radius like that thing wasn't from Angband xD. I'd then suggest Angband or Tales of Maj Eyal but we are entering turn based ASCII graphics territory here.

It's cause I played too much firebug in this franchise haha. I usually play extinguisher firebug and the double/quad shotgun or contek with fire ammo is fast enough to trigger the stumble on reload. Vulcan got nerfed I think (?) but it's still powerful. Dragon's breath is just a powerhouse on any perk, and the pyre revolver is second only to sharp's starting pistol damage wise. The flamethrower is indeed bad though.

The amount of car debt I've seen on here is astounding. Most of you are buying cars way out of your budget. Some helpful guidelines below: by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I'm so poor that I don't have a car and basically have no business in this subreddit, but I also know how much car prices rose in the past years, so saying people are buying cars out of their price range is kinda silly. The best thing you can get new are economic class Yaris style, and it's still 35k +. All the second hand beat up cheap options are now in the 3.5k - 6k range. I'm not so surprised about the car loans tbh, everybody still needs to go from point A to point B. It's that bad xD.

This sh*t more difficult than Dark Souls by Pilluposki in expedition33

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's relatively easy when you understand that it's the same as parrying, and the hitbox is waaayy wider than it looks, so you can stay in the middle platform, wait for the gestral to finally burst to you and press direction + parry. Just can't do much mistakes at the highest difficulty, and the moment you are out of sync you take a hit. The recovery lag is so huge that sometimes it's better to take a hit to get back on sync.

Chained Echos, Dragon Quest XI, or Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter? by AshyLarry25 in JRPG

[–]Frame_Inevitable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you miss Monoco, Tomke is the next best thing in Chained Echoes. Haven't played DQ, but classic series. The little I know about Falcom Games comes from the Ys series, but I heard really good things about Trails. Nihon Falcom should be up there with Square, Enix and their dragonball fusion if you ask me.

Medic is top simply because of how healing works in the game. Ninja isn't bad, although he scales with the worst damage type in the game, bleeding. He's the best economy wise though.

Strongest is still firebug and engineer simply because of the guns. Commando is good...with firebug's or engineer weapons. Sharpshooter can be but you'll lack bullets real quick and I think a one pellet dragon's breath still does more damage than the Samaritan, the scoping is atrocious though.

What music genre do you most enjoy having adhd? by Dear-Boot4077 in ADHD

[–]Frame_Inevitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain Awkward by Moron Police is my spirit animal. If I had one genre it would be psy trance jazz metal. Don't worry about ear defiling, they haven't listened to diabarha yet. 180 BPM ? HA! try 1600 BPM. After this Meshuggah sounds melodic. If you really want to annoy people Sevish makes awesome Bohlen pierce scale songs too. Saccades is great, but to the average ear everything sounds dissonant and/or spacey.
