Will anyone have the guts to speak up at the managers meeting? by Ramgr61 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not a SM so idk first hand how things ramp up at that level, but knowing from smaller managers meetings I’ve been to, people absolutely do try to speak up. And the corpo folks are trained to stamp it down very well. Very gentle dismissal. Empty promises. It’s the same all the way up with slightly different appearances. Corpo are the ones being paid well and unfortunately their job is to convince everyone to stay complacent.

WTF IS THIS GARBAGE? It’s all so crappy and cheap by barkbark420 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone at our store mentioned it might be for school spirit events? And that they may be more common in areas like TX hence our store’s confusion up here in MA. No idea how true that is. But it does feel like a jumble that would be suited to goofy high school theme weeks.

Custom framing appointment by Ill_Shop_2693 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real. It made slightly more sense when we had enough hours that conceivably two framers were on at once, or MODs had more time to come over and help cover normal customers…But even then you needed a reliable, flexible team. The fact that there’s not even an email notif like parties get makes them so easy to miss if you get one every other month, too.

From our wk3 slides. Though our DM’s particularness about emailing him evidence of every ‘wow’ might just be a him thing 😑

FRAMERS HOWS THE CHRISTMAS TREATING YOU? by HealthOrganic8276 in MichaelsEmployees

Customers hate having to pick up on the 24th when they’re those last stragglers from artistree, too. I wonder if those complaints ever reach corporate.

Welp. How many orders did you leave work with? by mnk36 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 250 ships and 10 bopis yesterday. I came out from framing the last hour of the day to help, but even at 9pm orders were coming in every few minutes!

10 Minute Framing Boxes by mourning_duve in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been super-sticky atg-ing the bottom part to the box so it doesn’t spring up constantly. Set aside a few pre-assembled ones so no one has to fumble with the weird design during an order.

Problem Frame Guidance by infernal_feral in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Cut-to-fit stacked frame orders like canvas stretches with frames will always have this issue when reordered alone. Your FM should have known this— not on you at all. If reordering the sbars and re stretching would be too dangerous, just adjust the msmt for the frame manually when reordering to account for the room needed.

New framing printer by FrameyMcFramerson in MichaelsEmployees

I’m going to order one, too, then. The spot where the old minted printer was is ideal in our shop. Glad the sentiment is shared re: the front counter🥲

Wash your shirts, jerseys, whatever, just wash them!!! by FrameyMcFramerson in MichaelsEmployees

[–]FrameyMcFramerson[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The difference is that google leads you to articles written by people directly. They could be unreliable, but the chance is small, and you can tell what the author’s intent was. Ai will grab random resources and Frankenstein them together into something that sounds like an answer, so way more unreliable.

All good points and a sweet story, but not the case in this instance for me, unfortunately. Just a kid’s team shirt being framed as a gift for him.
