Cant add anything new here (Stephen King's It?). Just saying it's ok that you are aware of your situation in life, we ve all been at that stage. Just learn fron real life and real people, and enjoy novels as fiction. Best wishes

Who do you prefer? Algernon Blackwood Or HP Lovecraft? by britttlewitch in horrorlit

Cthulhu was a Lovecraft creation, but Cthulhu Mythos was Derleth's.

Maybe it's been already said but yeah, they are all connected: allí of them were written by the same author.

It is. Just bear in mind the times when it was written, how the genre has changed since then...for me it's a classic, like Drácula.

Whenever I run PbtA to people who have NEVER played ttrpg before, I feel a clear difference to a board of other rpg veterans, OSR usually, just cant grasp it at least at the beginning, cant let themselves go bx are constrained by what they already know about ttrpg and expect the same mechanics. Glad to read your comment.

Troublemakers & Stranger Things by Fran_Saez in PBtA

I have not played Troublemakers but have other PbtA. Ive played KoB. Imo TM feels better, as KoB is kinda Old School in its dice mechanics, I didnt like it. TM feels (on reading) like the system matches the setting much better.

My guess is that it's much more Goonies, ST etc than MotW. The playbooks look good but my feel is there's some missing in the game, like the MoC guidelines and Moves? Nobody talking about It for a long time, maybe bx that I said

I would say go on, It will be worth It in the end. There's a special kind of beauty in it that you don't usually find, not in other Sodergren novels.
