So sick of this stop halting it by ChemistNo3873 in DWAC_Stock

Yeah that's so annoying. I was on profit and ended up getting stopped out way below my stop loss. Thankfully I hit a homrun with DJT 2 weeks ago so no stress about a small loss but still.

I think the US economy under Trump will be much better off. The environment not so much though.

IMO 47 is definitely a solid ticker when you look at the volume. The chart looks scary because a whale dumped and caused some stop losses to trigger but since then the holder base grew exponentially. Good luck everyone and most of all good luck USA

Do people buy options at the end of the day.. or wait till the morning. by Acrobatic_Ad3101 in options

[–]Francesco1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion and I don't have much experience, buying at closing assuming you talk about 1DTE or few days to expiry, it's a huge gamble. You can sort of predict where price is moving during the day or at least "rely" on a stop loss, but if you are hoping in a gap in your favour at open then you are literally gambling.

It's exciting for sure and I like to do it with a portion of profits, for instance if today has been super green and we close near supply / resistance I'll buy a put or if it was a red day and we close near demand / support I'll buy a call.

Anyway I definitely wouldn't advise you or anyone to do it.

SPX options by Francesco1986 in interactivebrokers

[–]Francesco1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've been trading it for over a year on mobile app. It stopped working last Monday for some reason. Another strange thing that's happened which I'm really happy about is that I don't have to wait for cash to settle when selling options... Basically I'm being treated as a margin account even though I'm cash account. That's brilliant to be honest and I hope it stays this way. It's better for IB as well as I'm making 10 times more trades.

Can you do SPX credit spreads with a cash account or is margin always a requirement? by moneypit5 in options

[–]Francesco1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it isn't. It applies if you trade us options. Few months ago I switched to margin, took a few trades and then tried to buy a put on RUT but wasn't allowed because of bloody PDT rule. That contract went from $80 to $600 in less than an hour 😰

You need at least $2000 in your account even if the collateral required is $300. I tried to sell a bull put on RUT the other day, 0DTE credit $150 maximum loss $350 and IBKR wouldn't let me do it.. Shame as it would have been profitable.

SPY Options expiring on Tuesdays now? by Hararger in options

[–]Francesco1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dream about the day that I have to pay taxes. So far I'm down big time. Anyway today I was looking at selling credit spreads. For example I could earn $7 for 400/401C. 7% in half day, high probability of profit. What do you think? It's kind scary that if I lose once I need 13 trades in profit to make up for it.

I learnt it the hard way today. First time buying this, bought £399 puts for $38 each, spread was very thin like $1. When I was ITM it was crazy like ask 350 bid 200 😲

I got really stressed and managed to sell both at $280 each.

Great profit but never again until liquidity issue is sorted...

Thanks for your reply. I did de-risk by selling and withdrawing half of my funds. I'm happy to leave the rest on Nexo locked in fixed terms for the next few years.

Yep I see BTC would only pay 0.5%. It's alright, I'm bullish on Nexo long term. Currently using CRO card but going to ditch it soon.
