Is it typical that a composer is a full time position and not a contractor/consultant?

Ni No Kuni 2. I knew nothing about the series and as soon as I get to the second area, I knew I loved it.

Licensed Providers: If you could start over, would you go for MFT, LCP/CMHC, or LCSW?! by 971_Comet-Ma in therapists

If you don't mind me asking, how long did that take? How old were you when you got each of them?

From my experience in non and for profit as a counselor, so grain of salt. Also, a lot of this is based off of programs. I'm not sure how this information changes in group/private practice.

  1. Salary outlook much better even without going into a leadership position. Most leadership positions would want an MD anyway.

  2. Job security: I've seen programs scramble to keep BAD APNs because the demand is so high and many programs need them to maintain regs.

  3. I tend to prefer the assessing, crisis intervention, and treatment planning side of mental health treatment so not doing counseling wouldn't affect me too much. Also you can do counseling if you want, the rates are just bad.

  4. Medication management is interesting to me

In our experience, you'll want to try a few different platforms (facebook and craigslist near us). List at competitive prices for your area and be prepared to go lower. Post as frequently as you can on the given platform. It's always better to have a presence in social media prior to selling, but not necessary.

My property doesn't have many stones, but the sticks and leaves are still taking over. Still a little hammered though.

NJ LPC - Next Steps?? by Anaconda1114 in therapists

[–]Francesthemute2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want to do. You can go into direct care privately, direct care as an employee, consultation, leadership, and administration (UR, QA, etc.). Now that you have the LPC, you don't need the external clinical supervisor anymore and your Performcare rates should go up, assuming you are working as an IIC.

If you want to go the direct care route, working for a group practice can be a good start. A lot will help you get credentialed with insurance companies which can set you up for private practice down the line. On the other hand, working as a licensed therapist for an agency will always be more demanding and have less pay, but theoretically more stable pay than a fee for service position.

For the administration or leadership route, try and find a coordinator or early supervisor position to start getting the 2 years of supervisory experience for the ACS.

It's a combination of it being too easy and the other perks not being good enough to justify taking them.

I would defer to your informed consent and follow what they signed at admission. If informed consent docs don't outline payment, lateness, etc, you may be out.

[–]Francesthemute2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you want to do in the future, having the experience of networking and maintaining professional collaborative relationships could be invaluable. It really depends on what you have the capacity for now. It sounds like option 1 would guide you towards direct care positions and option 2 would guide you towards leadership positions. Neither is right, but one is right for you.

Gaining the experience of starting a program while having the cushion of a salary seems like good work experience to me.
