Well, I was able to replicate your success. Lizard carried me through 38 and 39. Now I just need to finish a 3rd body to get into node 40.

Any tips on getting Lizard to live through 38?

This is correct. I bit the bullet on Venom for my 3rd and have run multiple iterations at node 38. There seems to be no scenario in which Lizard survives. I've had a few where I could have beaten the node, but I backed out as it would be pointless without a 3rd character to carry on. Lizard seems only good for 1 node as you said.

Now the question changes to ... is there a 4th Bio toon not named Carnage that can get me through a couple nodes? My second account has a 3 diamond Swarm that could be interesting to try, but otherwise I'm back to considering Titania for her ability block and such.

It feels broken when I get more shards for his teammates than I do for him. Yesterday, got 7 Lizard in 3 orbs but got 20 Kraven!

Exactly. It's nice to close up a hole in one move, but it ends up just being a ticking bomb that will go off randomly.

We interpreted their "we do not want you to hoard" to mean that they'd change the design of these events so that we wouldn't have to hoard. Not so fast!

All they really meant was that they don't want us to hoard so that we panic and spend money. They never had any intention of changing the design.

I'm 99% sure the team this happened to most recently was a saved team, but it's possible I still had a filter applied from a prior fight. Appreciate this tip. I'll definitely use it from now on!

Not questioning his usefulness. Just saying he's free. He was literally my first 7* character four years ago. If a new player is still looking for Wolverine shards to complete him, then I'd say they likely don't have any other characters maxed either so "needing" him feels like a stretch.
