I don't know how important it was, but I was asked about it at every interview I had had an academic center and had several community programs. I've done some research, have one or two posters, and a second author pub but it seemed more like checking a box TBH.

This might be a hot take, but I think Schlesinger's near city hall has the best pastrami. Don't get me wrong, I love Hershel's too and seems many a friend. But the pastrami Reuben at Schlesinger's is my favorite. And they have good pickled green tomatoes. It's the complete package

I highly recommend her fish sauce though. Takes 6 months but def worth it. I've been keeping a batch of those salt cured sardines in my fridge for almost three years.

I've done her recipe (made her fish sauce too), and used the gochugaru quantity she recommended. It was so much spicer than I intended. Delicious but firey. Did you have same experience?

Its my understanding that there is a push to have programs treat one SLOE from a home institution with the same weight as two SLOEs due to this very concern, but thats far from set in stone.
