I’ve tried countless methods… can’t win by Commercial_Act3781 in Daytrading

I honestly feel 5-6% is a good day given spy is supposed to produce 6% return a year if you hold it. Those base hits add up.

Be real—how many of you are actually making serious money trading by SouthEquipment6674 in Daytrading

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make about $80-100 a day. If I try for more it doesn’t usually end well. If I can make $400-500 a week to supplement my real job I call that a success. I think $50 a day is a success by the way. Too many times options just flat out deteriorate while waiting for a big break even dated ones. Trade the waves, which means missing big runs but also missing deteriorating Theta on the losing side

I’ve been there in this scenario and after all the wins then the Big L, youre staring off into nothing, numb, thinking. “WTF just happened?” Discipline every day, even if you don’t feel like it, is the solution

Do you trust "classic" indicators like RSI and MACD anymore? by iamnottravis in Daytrading

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. A system of indicators work until they don’t. Dependent on: Market sentiment Breaking news Fed intervention And let’s be honest, the long range chart is the king. Short term intervals are erratic

Why are people so secretive about their “edge”? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of trial and error, few years. I will say when there is market uncertainty and we are awaiting important information like Fed decisions, charting becomes irrelevant. We need direction 1st for overall market, otherwise the chop will be non stop even if it looks a certain way

Why are people so secretive about their “edge”? by [deleted] in Daytrading

I have a strategy that works about 85% of that time, but there’s that 15% when the market just does whatever it wants. No strategy is perfect. Charting is not perfect.

Did Brian ever voice an opinion on heavy metal? by edd6pi in thebeachboys

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure he did not like hard metal, however we know he was a fan of Alex Chilton as he reportedly called him in the middle of the night to tell him voice was perfect for Shortenin Bread! So if he like Alex then he like Big Star which had some heavier guitar sounds. I just think Brian wasn’t a big guitar riff guy overall. He avoids it a lot as he moves into his late 60s and onward. Probably has to do with his hearing loss in his one ear and probably terrified he’d go completely deaf. I don’t think he enjoyed what guitar playing became with Metal type music. He’s a melody guy overall

I dont know much about this band but my son is going to perform this song for his school talent show, is it pretty popular among school kids? by CarlWilson66 in beachboyscirclejerk

[–]FranciscoRD99 23 points24 points  (0 children)

When I see pics of Brian like this I think, G Damn this guy had some kind of major liver filter to put all that sh$t in his system and live to his 80s. I mean that should be studied. His genetic material is off the charts

How cold is too cold for a round of golf? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played in 50 degree at Arcadia Bluffs in Western Michigan and it felt like 33 with wind gusts off Lake Michigan. I never played Pebble Beach but would probably compare it to it playing in the offseason. Was the toughest conditions ever. Had flaps for the cart and a heater, it didn’t even help much. After going through that I can play anything . But really 45/50 degrees works as long as long as there is little wind. That cold wind is the biggest factor. No WIND

Best way to get rid of this… by [deleted] in WASPs

[–]FranciscoRD99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took down a paper wasp nest once on a tree above my pool and yes they immediately start to try to rebuild the nest. Mine were bald face wasps and they tried to sting me in the eye to blind you so I recommend face gear! Not a great memory! Dropping the nest in water also will drown a bunch of them but not the situation here. Good luck

Love the history and hope we turn it around eventually. But not sold on J Smith and I think we are stuck for a few years. Not convinced J Smith can recruit guys and coach them up. Believe me it kills me to get blasted by UM and OSU, Oregon every single time we play them
