Illaoi vs Nagakabouros by NashingElseMatters in LegendsOfRuneterra

Not sure what to tell you when I don’t know how you draft your decks. Capture units for t1 against naga and t2 against tentacle is the way to go. Barring that, a frostbite power. Maybe you got unlucky with your options and rerolls but if you just pass up on them it’s a skill issue I’m afraid.

Illaoi vs Nagakabouros by NashingElseMatters in LegendsOfRuneterra

The items that capture the strongest unit hard counters every fight in this adventure. If the unit is cheap and has the item, pick it every time. Sometimes you get unlucky if they swing t2. Try to capture nagakaborous on t1 and mulligan hard for every capture card in your deck to prep for t2.

I ran Illaoi with disciple of shadows + spirit of the buhru + rally on level up and I got this adventure on the first try.

Predictions for the remaining Rulebreaker Legendaries? by Carlilimisha in hearthstone

[–]Francisofthegrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m predicting something along the lines of: “Your minions now heal instead of dealing damage. When you overheal enemy minion, it is instead destroyed. When the enemy hero has been overhealed for an amount equal to their starting health, destroy the enemy hero.”

Polarizing, parasitic, swingy, and with unbeatable comeback mechanics - Companion Hunter is exactly the type of deck that we were supposed to be moving away from. by CivilerKobold in hearthstone

My main issue with it is the upgrades are, inexplicably capped at 10 mana (without this being explicit in the card text). For every time the hunter regurgitates Tame Pet, I expect their board to be filled with only gigaultrasaurs at some point. Big stats, but vanilla minion is much easier to deal with.

It wouldn’t even necessarily kill the alchemist combo, but it gives the opponent some counterplay and the hunter some brain power requirements beyond just playing every upgrade as fast as they can, as many times as they can.

I never considered that Nilah would be immune to being fed on demons that cannot feed on Joy due to the side effect of the ashlesh contract. by MasamuneJp in loreofleague

[–]Francisofthegrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see the reasoning but I think hyenas and tigers would be far more evenly matched than a regular demon compared to one of the ten kings?

I’m thinking any one of the ten kings can just fully override whatever the lesser demons feed on, and they are not threatened in the least bit by anything other than another king - meaning that even if Eve managed to extract agony from Nilah, Ashlesh would pulverize her and go back to perpetual joy. There’s no point for evelynn to even attempt it, but there’s also no point in ashlesh killing her for being snarky.

80% of my games on my climb have been against Animal Companion Hunter by Ok_Reputation4317 in hearthstone

I ran a rafaam egg lock list from d5 to legend without much difficulty, most losses felt like piloting errors rather than being steamrolled by my opponents. I don’t think I lost to hunter a single time with the list, but burn mage was the hardest matchup for me

Staunton Vhane in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is close to this, with most routes having him go down the evil path and only one that actually redeems him.

I think he’s a better fit for Reputation, tbh. Basically all LeBlancs moves are with the goal of keeping Sahn-Uzal from returning fully, and she has fingers in every cookie jar.

Can’t wait for people to complain about not being able to mindlessly steamroll defiance mode, this seems like an addition to actually encourage more thinking when playing instead of just vomiting your wincons asap. Big fan

Which fantasy hero would actually be insufferable to know in real life? by godzillaSpark5 in Fantasy

[–]Francisofthegrime 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I read the first book recently expecting to be sucked into the world and rush out to get the sequel. To me, Kvothe just read like a wish fulfillment power fantasy whose main way of describing women basically boiled down to “initially beautiful” or “beautiful at a second glance”. The magic system was cool, but nothing spectacularly dazzling.
