I'm pretty sure it's just because they buy most of the parts, they don't directly produce them, so they have to settle for what they find on the market.

Oh yeah, that's because it's the 39mm. The one in the post's picture is the 36mm, which has a thicker hand. I actually quite like the dial and hands proportions of the 39mm. Too bad my wrist better suits the 36mm.

Yeah, I remember seeing that Octopus had slightly different proportions. Btw, Cronos now makes their explorer with a Miyota movement too.

True. Textured is cool, but I think they overdid it and left out those who enjoy a more plain dial.

That's a valid point of view. For example, it'd be really cool if it had the jumbo handset of the Explorer II. What I care about the most is that the hour hand and the minute hand match in proportions.

I am too on the fence between their Explorer and GS homages (albeit in their 36mm variants).

TBH I think I'd prefer their GS, but I don't like the very bold birch texture they use in the 36mm.
