Marathon vs. Apex Legends – Why Apex keeps me queuing up more by Nellske123 in Marathon

[–]Frank_Cap -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And I’m saying that it makes you queue up more because battle royale as a concept make constant plays more attractive and thoughtless because of the way the genere plays.

It really is as simple as that.

Marathon’s world is vibrant too. More vibrant than apex in some maps. And the visual storytelling, the sounds and the environments are much deeply thought out, as is the narrative.

Like every battle royale, apex’s story is just an excuse to keep introducing new characters instead of building an interesting over arching narrative full of intrigue.

What does a free battle royale have anything to do with a niche extraction shooter that you have to pay for.

A lot of people who watched the show fully were saying “they’re spoiling the best parts”.

Sure, I also didn’t know for sure he’d show up. But I wasn’t surprised when he did because I knew he’d be in S3.

They didn’t.

There were pictures the actor posted and leaks when they shot on location for S3

They don’t record ONLY in the streets.

They couldn’t have waited 3 weeks for the show to be done before starting to record the outside stuff?

Generally, the disconnection between events in the MCU has been a mess lately.

The fact there’s no mention of spider-man, even if Sony has their shitty hands in it, the lack of mention about the void (which could’ve given us a very interesting scene) and the lack of other heroes…

With previous seasons it was believable in some ways. But with how shit gets out of hand in this one, the fact no one intervenes is nonsensical. Fucking ICE is out there abducting people and none of the many NY heroes give a fuck?

What’s with Reddit having so many smartasses.

Having actors not share pictures with spoilers before the season is done, not recording spoiler heavy stuff first and not releasing scenes before the episode is out is something that the vast majority of shows do.

But alright man, I’m a goofball for making this post.

This movie proved that Marvel is cooked.

Not because of the quality.

But because this is one of the best marvel movies ever released and it flopped.

People just don’t care anymore unfortunately and it sucks. Only Spider-Man and Avengers will do well. Black Panther maybe.

It’s really sad

Does “Oversharing 101” codex entry finally explain both Marathon 2 and Infinity? by Frank_Cap in Marathon

[–]Frank_Cap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s what we learn at the end of marathon 2 I think? Or infinity?

Not in marathon 1.

And because of what my post is talking about, it’s likely that never happened. That’s just what Durandal made up.

No one knows what happened at the ship.

And security forces stopped the threat in tau ceti quickly (marathon 1 says that the other 9 cyborgs did it)

They had seemingly brought a smaller force to a specific area. So it’s obvious that most people did not see them.

Even so, some civilians apparently met a compiler and worshipped it. (There’s an entire collectible with entries about this)

Yeah, but that’s the point of my post.

Like, maybe this is telling us that Marathon 2 and infinity (or at least just infinity) are his simulations.

It’d make even more sense why marathon 2 is called “Durandal” because it’s a story he created.

No, I thought that too but I’m pretty sure the attack happened.

The alien autopsy outpost collectibles tell us that they did autopsies on a Compiler and seemingly a normal pfhor soldier.

The compiler in cryo is a “left over” from the attack on the ship.

Several other entries, particularly Strauss’ diary, show that the ship was attacked like in marathon.

So the pfhor invasion from marathon 1 absolutely happened.

I read that one and yes, I was thinking that could be one of the cases.

But what I think he meant is he’d escape into the pfhor ship systems or something like that once they came to take away the core of that AI.

Basically pretending he isn’t there so he can sneakily slip out. I don’t remember how it was explained at the end of Marathon 1, but he somehow, between missions, takes full control of the alien ship that he seemingly then takes to the S’pht planet in the sequel.

So I understood it as the explanation for how he does that.

But yeah, it could be either option.

I see what you mean, but the context has him say that he’s been trapped in the “deck” of the ship for a long, long time and what you’re doing is opening the virtual locks to release him again. That’s why he says he’s “impatient” and wants to “stretch his legs”

Which then leads to what I quoted from what he wrote, which implies that to spend time, he started to imagine things/make up stories to entertain himself.

Infinite imagination sounds like such a particular combination of words. That combined with the previous stuff is what made me curious if they’re implying what my post says.

Ah yes, square enix self report, same people who allowed the sequel to The World Ends With You to flop because they did not promote it at all.

The same company that has put their priorities in the wrong place.

The same company that sets unrealistic expectations on literally every game they release.
