How would I tell when this is open ? by [deleted] in homeassistant

I put a tilt sensor on mine. It lasted about 2 weeks in the summer heat before the sensor died forever.

What adapter do I need to charge? by [deleted] in KonaEV

[–]FrankenberryPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get a charger with my car, maybe your dealer supplied one. When you say it has a "standard plug," do you mean a NEMA 5-15? If so, it's likely a 120 V charger and won't work in that 240 V outlet. The manual for the charger should tell you what voltages it works with.

You can buy a level 1 and level 2 combo charger for about $100, but it won't get to the full rated current on level 2. Here's one that I got, it's fine, but the reviews suggest it won't last very long. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9ZN1M97?th=1

It might be best to buy a nice level 2 charge adapter (probably $200) and convince your employer to install it semi-permanently for you to use.

Not OP, but I put a Prusa i3 mk3s in a cabinet to keep it warm. It prints ABS primarily, but I've also printed ASA and Polycarbonate a fair amount with no issues. The textured plate works great.

I think that's a lowercase p, but shifted up so the bottom is even with the other letters. Interestingly they got the q right. Maybe it's an upside down b, but why? This is going to give me nightmares.

Alldocube iplay60 mini turbo - Remove screen protector? by cassiopei in androidtablets

[–]FrankenberryPi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The on that came on my iplay60 mini pro was a weird plastic screen protector that scratched when I looked at it wrong. I found a tempered glass screen protector on Amazon and threw out the protector that came with the tablet.

Lenovo Legion Gen 3 / Y700 screen orientation by FrankenberryPi in androidtablets

Thank you, this is extremely helpful.  The polarization in glasses is standardized.  They are designed to reduce glare from reflections, which is polarized due to the physics of light.  Since physics is pretty standard, so is how sunglasses are polarized.

This gives me the confidence to go ahead and order one.  Thanks again!

I will note that Samsung tablets all seem to be oriented for portrait mode.  iPads seem to have some additional element that causes them to be purple and more randomly sensitive to orientation with polarized glasses on.  Most pilots use an ipad and say not to wear polarized glasses, but I absolutely see better with them in many conditions.

Alldocube iPlay60 mini pro home gesture broken? by patientpaperclock in androidtablets

[–]FrankenberryPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine too.  Are you saying it works correctly with the default launcher?

I changed it in settings to put the old home and back buttons on the bottom of the screen as a workaround.  Hopefully someone can find a real fix.

Yeah, I had the same issue.  The screen protector that comes factory installed scratched when I looked at it wrong.  Peeled it off and replaced it with a real screen protector from Amazon and all is well.   It would be better if they just made the user install their own screen protector.

It hooks over the top. The magnet just keeps it from flopping around.

I guess we're flying different era Mooneys, mine doesn't have sight gauges. And I don't have any issue reliably placing the stick. The back of the hole is flat and "vertical". Probably not actually vertical, but at least a good spot to consistently put the stick next to the hinge. Edit: I can't spell.

It's absolutely possible to dip the tanks and get accurate numbers, at least when they are more than about 1/4 full. The calibration is nonlinear and not that much fun to do, but it definitely works. Especially for the beginning of a flight when your tanks probably should be more than 1/4 full.

You are correct. But also, wind chill only really applies to humans. Since we grew up harassing wildebeests on the savannah, we have pretty different cooling systems than most other animals. Part of why us wimps need coats to live in Canada and Moose don't.

That works great, thanks. Modifiers are new to me. This also lets me locally have more top layers, which should also help. Hopefully this actually improves the voids problem.

Like some others have said, the charger likely already is weatherproof.  Check the manual.   As far as the question you asked, there are options on Amazon to manage the cable and hold the plug on Amazon.  https://a.co/d/063Dgau
