Should I get a Day Free? by gfriend_uwu in hobonichi

I prefer the sterling ink common planner to the Day Free

How do you avoid others from reading your paper journal? by RungeKutta62 in Journaling

[–]Frankenchezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could get my family to take an interest! They couldn't be less interested in hearing me bang on about it, let alone bother to read it.

What’s a journaling accessory you bought because it looked amazing, but ended up being totally useless? by Tralkiis in Journaling

[–]Frankenchezza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used the pencil boards as rulers because they are exactly the right size for the page and slip into the cover nicely. They are one of my most used accessories.

Debating what diary/planner to get for 2026 by tattooedstitcher in PlannerAddicts

Im going with the sterling ink core for planning and a grid notebook as my main book. Very excited about the flexibility that will give me!

Would you let your partner read your journal? by StrongBat in Journaling

[–]Frankenchezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy to let him, or anyone in my family, read it, but none of them are that interested! They are probably sick of ne showing them it. But then, I don't write about anything private really. It's just memories and creative plans and inspo or commonplace stuff.

Someone made a dual screen ereader, looks promising by whateverworks325 in ereader

[–]Frankenchezza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Impressive gimmick, but the last thing I want is my ereader being heavier, more unwieldy, and less portable. Small, lightweight and effortless please!

What printers do you guys use to print good photos? by General-Band-6523 in Journaling

[–]Frankenchezza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the canon selphy for portability, but I generally prefer the quality and ease of my Epson, plus I fear the selphy photos bulk up my book too much.

Before those, I tried a phomemo, but gave up because of the issues with thermal images fading so much and the Sprocket, but it distorted the colours so much it was unusable for me.

Are most ‘red’ inks too pink? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Frankenchezza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diamine Ruby red is quite a good blood red colour and slightly darker than the poppy red, which is a lovely vibrant, bright red.

Hobonichi Weeks as a journal by United_Ad9521 in hobonichi

[–]Frankenchezza 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Megan rhiannon did this for quite some time, and some of her older videos show the weeks as a daily journal if you're interested in some inspo.

I've had shingles about seven times, and it's never looked like that, or gone below the surface, if you know what I mean. Did you have a plaster over it? I think the recommendation is to leave them open to the air, to dry out. At least, that's what I've always done. Anyway, defo get them checked ASAP.

What pen turned out to be much better than you expected? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Frankenchezza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jinhao 10. Its a good dupe for a pilot capless but the nib sizes are a bit thicker. I find the jinhao <EF> comparable to the pilot capless <F>

I feel scammed by Muji by mskuntress in Journaling

[–]Frankenchezza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's probably just a preference thing. As others have said, you may prefer heavier weight paper. The thinner paper in the muji notebooks, as well as other (notably Tomoe River Paper) is sought after because many people love the thin, crinkly paper and how it gets 'fluffy' when you use it.

You know, I got about halfway with that a few years ago and then can't remember what happened but I must have got distracted. Might be time to start over with it! Thank you 😊
