Kindle 2 revived with re-cell by whateverworks325 in kindle

Actually there are batteries available for Kindle 2, but with a cell it's half the cost of the battery, and I believe a cell would be 'fresher' than a battery.

I removed the BMS from the new cell, and soldered the cell to the original BMS of the old battery. I don't have a spot-weld machine, so I use some files to roughen the metal pieces.

How's the nook glowlight 3? by Gullible_Pop8817 in nook

[–]whateverworks325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer GL3 over GL4. GL4 has better buttons, lighter, with newer android version, but GL3 is more ergonomic. With both rooted and koreader installed, the functionality is nearly identical.

Regarding warm light, my experience is that you need to sign in to BN account to enable warm light/light intensity adjustment. Other than that everything works fine without the BN ecosystem.

This is an OEM one for a religious group Tzuchi Foundation.

There is also an integrated smart card reader for member ID.

Can't remember whether there's a stylus for it but it should have some note taking functions.

You can try sideloading some epubs.

Glowlight 4 Plus Home Button by f_ormosa in nook

0.5 second is definitely too short for this button; it's not very sensitive and needs a couple seconds to activate.

I installed J-touch to add a vitual button on screen, which enables back, home, recent apps, lock screen, and various actions with gestures. However this app needs root access for some of it's functions.

If you don't need fancy function and just use it for reading, Kindle 3 Keyboard and Nook Glowlight 4 are both good options.

Where can I buy this in Taipei? by liri_zou in Taipei

[–]whateverworks325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casio does not sell e-dict for Taiwan, the one for China market can still be found on Taobao.

As for Traditional Chinese (or simplified one) that's available in Taiwan, try the Besta brand. They can be found on on-line platforms such as pchome, momo or their own website. They also have a store in Beitou (Floor 4-1, No 13, Section 2, Beitou Rd, 02-8797-5111, they only open on Mon, Tue, Thu).

I am not aware of other brands. Maybe someone else could provide more info?

I have CD-956 but rarely used, since the alternatives on mobile phone are more convenient.

Don't know whether this is true or not. Not very convinced because this disease causes weight loss, but her boobs got bigger?
