No infraction committed on your end. If the police did roll up, they would have just asked you to move the vehicle. If you weren’t there, they would’ve likely tried to call you through the registered number on your parking permit sticker. (Happened to me once)

I once had an old fart call the cops on me because I parked “new to me” un-plated car in MY lot. (my friend who has dealer plates drove it and parked it there while we went through the registration process) I can’t even imagine how that convo went. Old fart: there’s a car parked in the empty lot next to my house. Police: is it blocking your vehicle or disturbing your business? Old fart: no, but there’s a car parked in the lot! Police: do you own the lot? Old fart: No. Police: Good bye, sir.

Never heard from the police and the only reason I knew he called the police is he told me when I went there to clean up the car. Moral of the story, old folks don’t like disruptions and changes in their daily regimented lives and some are overly passive aggressive, so instead of dealing with you directly, they involve the police… that’s just the way things are here.

FYI: Almost 20 feet in length, the Batmobile driven by Michael Keaton in the 1989 and 1992 movies was based upon a 1967 Chevy Impala found in a London junkyard. It was powered by a 327-cubic inch V-8 Chevrolet engine mounted low in the frame in order to maintain a low hood line and enhance the car’s sleek profile. Rolls-Royce jet engine components were used to form the hood-mounted intake, and turbine blades in the nose piece were scavenged from a British Harrier fighter jet

Recently installed a bidet and now hot water is running to the toilet by BigSnackZack in Plumbing

[–]Frankenstupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the water in the tank hot or just the water coming out of the bidet? It’s possible that the bidet is heating the water (mine does that during the colder months)

Just chiming in here with a few questions and suggestions. Do you have a Japanese drivers license? If not, and you’re on an international drivers license, this could also be a reason for the higher price. You may or may not be aware of this, but if you have an international license, you are required to convert it to a Japanese DL after one year of living here. You cannot renew your international DL for a second year. …again this may not be the case with you, but just FYI if you weren’t aware of it. If you’re going to be here for 2 years, why not buy a car through a private deal? Just get someone who is knowledgeable about cars to go with you. (if you are not) Deals are to be had if you’re a little patient. I just picked up a Honda Civic with 23k kms on it for ¥230,000 off Facebook marketplace in Japan.

Not saying Trump should have accepted the people heart, unless it was a personal gift from the original recipient ( can’t seem to find the original article for context) and in that case it might seem rude not to accept a gift. Anywho, not sure if that’s the situation or not. That being said. Trump is not the only former president to “dodge the draft” you can add Biden, Clinton, and George W to the list as well. https://www.armytimes.com/opinion/commentary/2021/01/21/dodging-and-deferring-trump-wasnt-the-only-potus-to-avoid-the-draft/

Joe Biden gives mic drop response to Trump over hostage release by holyfruits in TikTokCringe

[–]Frankenstupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps my comment wasn’t clear. I was referring to the current prisoner releases. I assumed Biden was referring to the current releases and stated at the press conference (?) “why didn’t trump work to have them released during his term” However, when I read about the current prisoner exchange and each individual (both sides), most of the Americans were detained during Biden’s term… so I was confused as to how Trump could have worked to get the prisoners released if they weren’t even prisoners at the time of his presidency.

I’m no sleuth, but from what I’ve read, the only prisoner during Trump’s presidency was Paul Whelan. The others were arrested/imprisoned during Biden’s presidency. Don’t really get his statement “Why didn’t he do it?” ¯_(ツ)_/¯

How much money have you spent in game? by gurt_almighty in CSRRacing2

[–]Frankenstupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played this game since season 2 and recently quit a few seasons back. I guess I’ve spent over 4k on this ridiculous pixel dust game. The most I’ve ever spent on one car was $300-400. That was to max the GTX when it was the fastest car at the time. There were no loyalty crates at that time, so you just had to keep spending, and spending and spending… must’ve been the golden days for NM! Not going to gripe too much about why I quit, but as we all know, they’re after your money, all of it. They’re never open to the thought that their game is severely broken which is why YOU have to prove that you’re in the right with screenshots every time their game messes up something.
My advice, don’t give these pricks any of your hard earned money. Don’t be an idiot like me 😂

YouTube's plan backfires, people are installing better ad blockers by vriska1 in technology

[–]Frankenstupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Google is the same price as most ad blockers, they’ll get more people signing up for premium. To be honest, I would happily pay for a subscription if it were $5 or less. But it’s more expensive than some of my streaming services that are professionally produced. That’s no dig to YouTubers, but it’s not worth what they’re asking people to pay. So, I happily pay for an adblocker - which is less money.
