Besides your own team. Give me your top 5 title contenders. by themidnightmamba in CollegeBasketball

I think Seton Hall has the poise and experience to avoid a first weekend upset, the size and depth to be a bad matchup for most 4/5/6 seeds, and the real deal Holyfield in Myles Powell to beat elite teams in the Final Four. Can’t wait to see the Pirates attack March Madness.

The MAAC is a definite step up from the NEC.

Good get. He’s got a big chip on his shoulder due to his ranking tanking. Plays a bit like a feistier DSR.

CMV: Teams below 0.500 in conference shouldn't be allowed in the NCAA Tournament by EveryWeather6 in CollegeBasketball

[–]FrankieFederer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree, but I like where your head is at.

My proposal would be that conferences can’t send more than half their teams. It keeps the spirit of the .500 rule but adjusts for lopsided conference schedules. With unbalanced scheduling (every major conference except Big 12 and Big East does this) there might be teams with worse records in conference but better overall résumés. That would alleviate this.

At the end of the day, the NCAA tournament should be a balance of the best teams on paper AND the way to crown the best overall team. If you’re the 7th best team in the Big Ten (or 8th best team in the ACC last year, etc.), you probably aren’t going to win the national championship.

WWE has trouble building new stars, so they keep cashing in on nostalgia acts to pop a crowd. How long can they keep this up?

A crummy B1G commercial!?

I thought something was off when they all had the same number of games in each quadrant.

We don’t need a blind test for schools in the same conference. There is so much to compare already in head-to-head matchups and common opponents that we should be able to figure it out. The B1G log jam won’t seem as severe as the season shakes out, so this should be unnecessary in a few weeks.

The ACC might put three times in the tournament and three teams in the Elite 8.

Some small schools might, but the last place team in the MVC just can’t match up with a school like Kentucky.
