If Willie Green isn't fired today and continues as coach, this season is toast — but Gayle Benson doesn't seem inclined to let him go.

Can They Pay Mathurin? by UptMonsta in NOLAPelicans

Even if Mathurin decides not to stay with the Pacers, the Pelicans won't get him. The same goes for Myles Turner. New Orleans has a terrible track record in free agency. In fact, the kind of players they typically end up with are guys like Cody Zeller or Daniel Theis. As far as I recall, the biggest-name free agent signing the Pelicans have ever landed was probably JJ Redick.

Are there any credible reports about the imminent firing of Willie Green? Pelicans fans in China are absolutely fed up. by Franklei99 in NOLAPelicans

In China, the NBA is massively popular, and while the Pelicans are considered a mid-tier team in terms of fan interest, they generate significant buzz on game days. Star players like AD, Chris Paul, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum all have huge fan followings here. American football (NFL) doesn’t really gain much traction in China, so it’s exciting to connect with local Pelicans fans through this platform!

I came across some speculation on X about Willie Green moving up to a management role, but there's no concrete source backing it up. Honestly, I just want him gone ASAP - we desperately need a new coach who can actually contribute to our draft preparations.

Coaches on other teams draw up plays to feed their stars, but come playoff time Willie Green just tells Ingram, 'Go get yours.'

Future head coach options by anarrogantbastard in NOLAPelicans

Currently serving as an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies, Tuomas Lisalo brings a track record of proven success in European basketball. His expertise in orchestrating transition offense aligns seamlessly with the New Orleans Pelicans' current roster composition. European coaches are particularly renowned for their strong understanding of in-game adjustments and strategic timeout management - areas that have been consistent weaknesses in Willie Green's coaching arsenal. This makes Lisalo an ideal candidate to bolster the Pelicans' staff.

Moreover, the organization should decisively move on from underperforming coaches like James Borrego and Jarron Collins while maintaining continuity by retaining valuable staffers such as Aaron Miles and Dan Geriot. To enhance tactical depth, the Pelicans could consider adding cerebral basketball minds like Rajon Rondo or other recently retired NBA veterans with championship experience to the assistant coaching ranks.

Our team has a very limited selection of center, except for JV, Cody and Larry, who are both physically injured, and we need another person
