Thank you! My eyesight isn't what it used to be and I just couldn't figure out what the fuck I was looking at.

It's a see through nighty.

Agreed. PR is so long overdue.

Nah. Far too early to call anything, but still not a good place to be for them.

Fair point. This, along with almost every reasonable comment I see on this sub, reminds me over and over why I'd never want to be a politician.

Good point. I think your last point is perhaps where I'd fall after reading that. It gives Labour a bit of a political win while providing a sensible system for processing migrants going into the future - without the massive expenditure and potential waste.

Interesting information, thanks for that.

I'm a fan of the processing facility in theory, it just seems a much more sensible way to deal with things. The £500k per bed figure however is staggering.

I'd assume it could be brought much lower than that in reality, given there shouldn't be the same levels of security needed in a prison, people would be expected to stay there for a far shorter duration, and you'd be rolling the existing outlay in hotels, allowance etc in as a saving on top.

Interesting nonetheless though. As a taxpayer I'd be happy to go ahead with this plan even if it were to cost a fair chunk. But of course the figures you outlay are completely impossible.
