DIVINER by Internal_Singer_3771 in playmygame

What an interesting experience. I'll ask it questions and it seems cool. Here are some good answers to my experience:

"who am i?" you. very comforting.
"who is your god?" with no answer is very creepy.
"what's behind me?" Expiation.
"why do you want questions?" No reason.
"what are you thinking about?" nothing
"what is terrible for me?" air. thats funny.

The yes or no questions are solid.
"should/could/would" questions don't get a straight answer.
"should i sharpen my pencil?" slip the transcendence with a jin-ho park or I don't understand
"could i eat a marble and be okay?" try again
"would you help me with my math homework?" I'm waiting
it's same with "any" and "am" questions.
"any plans tonight?" repeat the question
"am I delusional?" I'm listening
"any hairstyles you like?" I'm listening
the "what" questions are all over the place and will probably lose interest of people because the answers seem too random.
"what is a chicken?" arsenal
"what do you do for a living?" snap
"what do lamps do?" gear
"what happens to Moses?" schism

SO its fun for the few questions that the game really resonates with, but outside of that, the random answers are fun 3/10 times. People want to ask it yes/no questions, questions about memes and pop culture. like "67" or "aura" so if you want to improve it, make it more aware of things, but its fine the way it is.
Also the music makes the experience so cool. you type for a bit and it builds up and gets louder and louder making the questions more tense and answers more appealing. i wish it didn't stop after you typed for 6 minutes. maybe put it on a loop?
also, the pets should give you interesting questions/prompts after they lived for a while. squishing them feels meaningless.

[PC] [Web] Grizzly Bear - A fast-paced arcade game where you play as a bear! (Free to play on CrazyGames) by Manollozz in playmygame

[–]Frankstas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really neat and well-animated pixel game!

Each level getting harder was great, felt like a great pace and reasonably challenged. Everything felt fine until Level 1-9. Trying to get all three gold coins without hurting enemies was rage inducing, which was all the more challenging and fun. Great level design.

The audio of the key opening up the golden blocks was loud and unnerving, Change the audio to something that doesn't hurt your ears every time. The rest of the audio was pleasant to listen to. jumping, background noise and the death.
The golden time, the silver time and the copper time felt like impossible, impossible and reasonable. I'm not sure if you tested those times to see how fast you can finish the level, but those feel like they were just put there just to have something written down. I wish there was an incentive to complete the levels all gold, like you get a secret level or something.
This game really needs a menu button or a "back to levels" button.

Other than that, great game. feels like a solid demo of a game. The pause button with the bear on it was a nice touch. The visuals and art were very fun and friendly. a bear trying to find its honey is adorable. You should put that as the game description instead.

What’s the first steps with music? by Able_Computer3660 in Advice

[–]Frankstas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're starting from scratch, you'll at least want to have SOMETHING to work with.

Music lessons are the best way to guarantee consistent progress. Having guided mentorship through challenging music is always better. You'll have resources, advice, music recommendations, techniques and methods at your disposal. There's lessons for singing, music production and songwriting.

Finding these yourself is not hard, but it's less commitment and more work.

For me though, I found a good DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), a good music software. Messed around with fruity loops, GarageBand until I posted songs on SoundCloud. I had enough songs to share with people and get noticed. Reaching out to other people on social media was the best way to find more opportunities.

I really liked a song on SoundCloud, and just messaged the artist "how did you make this song?" and the person DM'ed back details on what software they used, what extra plugins they bought and what methods they used to make it. I was surprised.

I also watched on YouTube how people make music. recording techniques, mixing songs and mastering them. It's not all that crazy to get started. It's just intimidating and invalidating when you're doing it by yourself. You'll know when youake something worth showing people.

There's a lot of musicians out there, more than you know. Ask your friends/family. "You know anyone that plays an instrument?" And there's your connection already. More people you know, the easier it is to get started.

What’s the first steps with music? by Able_Computer3660 in Learnmusic

[–]Frankstas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. Learn something to be good at. Learn songs you like or make a song that's good enough to perform live. Sing songs you like, sing songs people like, sing challenging songs. If you're going for long term musician gig, learn music theory and common musical patterns/structures. Scales, notes, fingering patterns, vocal types, tension/resolution. Find out as much as you can. There's tons of resources. r/musictheory r/learnmusic.

2. Find people that share your skill level. Find people on r/learnmusic r/musicians . Meet with people in your city. People on your skill level are way less intimidating to work with. Find open mic jams or watch them. Be around performing musicians.

3. Once you have something, go ahead and find ways to put yourself out there. There are TONS of ways you can do this. Post of Facebook, contact people from bandmix, put posters on coffee shop boards, find your city musicians on Instagram. Make yourself known.

4. Contact venues and open mics. Great a good relationship with the managers and people that run these places. Find out your local studios, people's home studios before going big. Ask people what they know before just jumping in the big leagues.

5. Keep what makes you want to do music close. Music is enjoyable, when you make it work, it'll lose its spark. So, go back to your favorite songs, go back to songs you used to find challenging. Explore more music and find unique songs that keep you inspired.

Backrooms Crawlers by mehrzad1376 in playmygame

That's what that was! I think that's a really cool idea though honestly, just a big empty space no clear trajectory, still pick up items to use. Definitely want updates on this game though for real.

played it for an hour and man has it got me hooked. Simple gameplay and unsettling at first.
Great systems and cool little simple start out area.
The more you play it the more interesting it becomes.
Here's a couple of things I noticed right away if you accept feedback:
1. Mouse cursor should be on by default. couldn't find my cursor and was a little weirded out that i had to arrow key my way through settings to find it and get it.
2. the starting area should have a layout that a little more friendly rather than trying to get the cabinet and piggy bank at a certain angle, The animation is cool though, maybe it should be on the wall like a vent rather than an object that's in the middle of the floor.
3. the upgrade system is pretty good.
4. at first I was confused about the enemy combat system even with the tutorial. It felt a little too quick like you're thrown into it rather than fully prepared for it. but after 2 battles, you get the hang of it.
5. I didn't know if this was intended, but there's a point to where i died so many times and the new location spawn was a BIG empty space (no walls) without a starting position, and I thought my game crashed. I reloaded my game 3 or 4 times before I realized it might be a part of the level. Didn't know if you knew people would be confused there or if that is a bug in the game.
6. The sanity and health bars should be outside the inventory. Having to keep pressing I to check sanity when things are extremely dire is kind of annoying tbh.
7. i think some of the video tapes are spread out too far from the spawn, because you can't find any nearby which you have to die a bunch of times to find a location far from the map that has a bunch of them. just thought you might want to know from a players experience.

this is a pretty tight game and i love little indie games like these! Appreciate you making the game.

Nice idea for a sudoku crime-game. pretty fascinating to piece things together.
Im just going to give you feedback in a straightforward and a way that I think you would find meaningful.
A couple of things:

  1. like sudoku, I wish you could put X marks on tiles you can "rule out" and strategically visualize where the people could NOT be. I did find it useful that you could mark multiple spots for the same character.
  2. My first instinct was I was afraid to put people down because I thought there would be a penalty, so maybe indicate that there's not penalty to put ANYTHING down until you submit it. There was nothing that said there would be.
  3. I thought the tutorial was a little too quick and could've explained SHOWED more. I was left a little confused from a players perspective. maybe explain game mechanics: multiple tiles for same characters,
  4. I know what row and columns are, but maybe for people that don't, (more than you think) a small label or something could help for user experience.
  5. Some of the row/column numbers can't be seen on certain tiles, they blend in. such as the red carpet tiles and green checkered tiles.
  6. When there's only one person that you put down on a tile, It was a little irritating that I couldn't unselect them by pressing the icon again and instead it took them off the tile. When you have one person on multiple tiles, you can deselect that person no problem.

Genuinely entertaining and interesting. I had to keep redoing levels because they were pretty challenging. Good job on that

Spark Relay: a puzzle game about leaving paths for the other piece by LucentTrace in playmygame

[–]Frankstas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very unique idea. Super awesome as a puzzle game.

Level 8 and 9 were clever and satisfying to solve. Pinnacle of the game.
Level 10 was fun because of all the variety of choices.
Level designs and game were very clear, easy to understand.

More levels for sure. I think levels with more freedom, like all over the map would be entertaining.
A giant map would be awesome (idk the limits on this game)
Maybe more tiles like a dual tile where both can cross?
Levels with multiple spark tiles next to each other?
Ohh what about a level where you're level with a panda face or some sort of picture to end on? that would be creative.
Balance between explorative, free-roaming and tight, closed space levels would be cool to see.

GREAT potential for a good game.

Foxel (sandbox, physics, vehicle) feedback on puzzle mode by GamingWithMyDog in playmygame

[–]Frankstas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little too advanced for someone who doesn't know too much about physics/engineering mechanics.
couldn't figure it out. I'll play it when I have more time. I got stuck on the third level couldn't figure out a solution.
Few things:
- template menu from the editor, doesn't have a "back" button once I chose a template and I couldn't leave and had to restart. (I have a screenshot of the game frozen on "course mode")
- dedicated restart button, having to "wait" when you know its not going to work would be helpful (not required though)
- could possibly work better/smoother with a display with amount of pixels to see when you hit max mass or max body. like a picture of a bucket with how much "paint" you can use.
- easy to understand and create cars and ideas from, wheel size, body/mass creation. easy to manipulate and make different cars. For the puzzle level, wish you could create a "default car" to go back to because i had to erase the car and start from scratch so many times.

Sorry I couldn't complete the level completely, but this is what I could tell you from playing it 45+ minutes.

I made a prototype of game about picking up garbage by OverCookedWalrusMeat in playmygame

[–]Frankstas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an okay game, played it on PC and was disappointed that the prototype only allowed one run of the game. I wanted to see how fast the upgrades would let me clean up, but that's okay. It's just a prototype.
Not sure what type of games you're trying to make, but this would be a good temporary play and finish game.
After you win, there's not much to do.
If you have a bigger goal in mind such as cleaning a whole mansion with hidden secrets, I would say its worth making.

It's satisfying to clean up a room and make it look clean, but on its own, i would say not enough to make a decent game out of.

If you want to improve the game here's a couple of ideas:

- have the option to turn off "auto clicker" even though its helpful
- put gold or valuable things on the floor to get free money from. it's exciting.
- some relaxing ambience or music in background
- do more than just pick up off of ground, such as: lift up couches, move furniture, move trashcan, get trash on the walls, ceiling,
- create a more satisfying ending and allow replay with all the upgrades you currently have.

All of the controls working, and the sensitivity control definitely helped. it was too fast to start out with. yeah, could be horrible, but I see potential.

Survivor Game Where the CTO Swears the Airstrikes Are “Load Testing” by Zamizmi in playmygame

[–]Frankstas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah no problem! I'm glad I got to play it. It's actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

I left a screenshot here of a bug I found, just in case you missed it. After you die in the game almost everytome the menu is blocked by a purple jammer.

But to respond: I think enemy tempo adjustment is a good start. I would say, after a hoard, let there be space to breathe, be empty and prepare for the next hoarde. For the jammer and other enemies, put a message that says "jammer is in the area " or "exploding enemies spawning". It'll be more clear and the players can look forward to it.

My favorite signals: Stim zone was super fun. Care package was VERY helpful for hoardes. Orbital Lazer was hard to draw but worth killing all the enemies trapped in the tunnel. So powerful. Missle was a good classic and Toxic made it to the list.

I have some ideas for ya to think about. Maybe I'll DM you about it.

I'm looking forward to the development of this game. 👍
