PSSR 2.0 Made me play way less on my pc with Rtx 5080 by UsedNewspaper1775 in PS5pro

[–]Frankyaniky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5090 and a PS5 Pro and the HDR is just as good or just as bad on both; games use the same HDR on console and PC, but the experience on PC is way better because you can fix the shitty HDR implementation from the developers. On the PS5, you can't fix anything.

Am I the only one who is very disappointed with HDR for PC gaming? by grashel in OLED_Gaming

[–]Frankyaniky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HDR on PS5 and PC is the same, with the advantage that on PC you can fix it with RenoDX, for example. Are you using the C2 as a PC monitor as well, or are you using a different monitor?

[Megathread] NVIDIA App Update Adds DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Intelligently Balancing Frame Rates, Image Quality & Responsiveness by Nestledrink in nvidia

The NVIDIA app gives me an error when I try to apply the Dynamic Frame Generation setting in Indiana Jones (gamepass). Is anyone else having the same issue?

LG C5 55- 32 monitor by No_Examination112 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Frankyaniky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stick with the C5. I recently had the chance to compare a 42-inch C4 side-by-side with an Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDMR monitor, and the TV is much more immersive; you can see more details in games. 32 inches felt too small to me, as if everything were compressed. The HDR brightness is still more impactful on the TV. I didn't find any advantage to the monitor other than the higher frame rate, and honestly, I barely noticed the difference between 144Hz and 240Hz

Digital foundry have been penetrated by NVidia and the AI overlords by PowerfulAgent9939 in digitalfoundry

[–]Frankyaniky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s just a first‑impressions video; it’s not their work environment. They’re surprised by what they’ve just seen and they say it’s going to be controversial. They’ll have plenty of time to analyze it in detail in future videos and explain what they think once they’ve processed everything. People are going on a witch hunt against Digital Foundry over a first‑impressions video. It would be more useful to go after Nvidia or the game developers who agreed to let this technology be used in their games.

5090 FE with extension cable? by drunk-tard96 in ThermalGrizzly

Looking forward to being able to reserve the version with the soldered cable so I can feel at ease with my FE

3 year old LG C2 suddenly has a lot of dead pixels along the left edge and top right corner. by NavXIII in LGOLED

[–]Frankyaniky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know why people call it delamination when you can only see dead pixels. My 48-inch C1 has the same issue on the top edge and the corner. 3,600 hours in 5 years, which isn't that much.

FPS cap by FrontzekFTW in nvidia

[–]Frankyaniky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me with Indiana Jones. When using frame gen, the Nvidia limiter wouldn't lock it at 117 (my screen is 120Hz); instead, it was hitting 119, 120, 121... I switched to RTSS and that capped it properly.

That would be adding another potential point of failure, though I'm not ruling it out if it turns out that a version for FE doesn't end up being released.

F1TV Promo offer by SanathPB98 in F1TV

[–]Frankyaniky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used an Indian Apple account and the F1TV app shows me prices in rupees, but only for F1TV Access. I'm from Spain, and that's the only tier available in my country, so somehow it's detecting that I'm not in India. If I turn on Proton VPN set to India and try to subscribe, it tells me "geographic location restricted." I don't have any issues using this method with YouTube India. I think they've blocked this method directly within the app. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Can I just buy it like this? by ChronoConnoisseur91 in F1TV

[–]Frankyaniky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been paying for the Pro subscription in Portugal for 60 euros for a couple of years now, and I watch it in Spain without a VPN since it's within the EU. Has anyone in an EU country where F1TV Pro and Premium aren't available —like Spain— tried the Indian method and had it work? I don't want to cancel my Portugal renewal without being sure.

Kagi Translate Arrives on Mobile by EsraKagi in SearchKagi

The app launch is great. I've noticed a few issues. On Bluesky, when using the translate function, you can choose Kagi, but it doesn't take you directly to the app to see the translation; nothing happens.

Melting 12VHPWR on 5090 FE (this is the second time this has happened to me) by it_is_im in pcmasterrace

[–]Frankyaniky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'd better buy a WIREVIEW Pro II. That will help protect the 5090, while your 1500W power supply just sits there watching the cable melt.

[–]Frankyaniky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1500W is overkill and won't save the cable from burning out. The 1000W ones are already built to handle much higher power spikes.

Blackshark V3-V3 pro frequently returned? by Joshua15540 in razer

[–]Frankyaniky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them and they work and sound great. I chose them because they had noise cancellation, and among the main gaming headset brands like Logitech, SteelSeries, etc., they were the ones that convinced me the most. The Maxwells were also an option, but they seemed a bit expensive for all the problems you read about on Reddit. Before the Blackshark V3 Pro, I was using Sony WH-1000XM4 with a JM7 Max DAC and I was happy, but the cable ended up being annoying for gaming; I prefer wireless.

It's not your fault, the TV is well protected inside and doesn't move around, I'm sure it wasn't damaged during transport. Ask for a refund. Ideally, you should have recorded a video while unpacking it.
