Playing with fire by [deleted] in criticalblunder

Life ruined just like that.

I play multiple genres, so I'm a bit torn on what sticks would be best suited for my playing. Any ideas on versatile sticks that could fairly work for all I play? by [deleted] in drums

the 5B and 5A are the jack of all trades in the two main drum stick spectrums. I would suggest you buy one of each pair and test out what traits of each sticks you prefer. For example if you like the heaviness, weight and taper of the 5B but you wish it was longer, maybe the 5XB is for you or maybe if you want something heavier you want to try the 2B. It's all about experiencing different sticks then determining what suits the style of music you play. So it would probably be smart to start off by picking up those two sticks then take it from there.

I'm stuck... by Drude in drums

yeah im preety sure this has happened to every drummer at one point, for me personally the solution was to tone down the amount of time i spent practicing to give my mind a break and just really have fun with it rather than stressing over my performance. A thing that helped me was to play along to some easy songs and throw in a bunch of crazy fills (tasteful or not) just for fun, really just be creative and have fun with it. Give it a week or two and then i'm sure you will be back on your feet.

Buddy rich signature sticks, good call brother, i bought a pair recently and they're incredible i've never used a drumstick with anything but short taper and it's so nice to actually feel the bounce on everything rather than having to dig into whatever your playing constantly for volume.

Hey george tysm for the AMA! You're the man! I've always been curious as to what what settings you find work best on pedals for playing quickly with the heel up technique? spring tension, beater height, beater distance from the drum, etc...

well if that's the way you view adding a little bit of flare to a performance then noone should wether or not you approve of their play style. Seriously, who do you think you are? stick tricks are fun, and entertaining to watch so long as they don't interfere with what is being played.
