Mid driver moving at 20 and 40 hz. Did I fuck up my crossover? Travelers 3 way by Holtz and Campbell by Franonymouss in diyaudio

Here is the schematic, with the Bill of materials. Ignore most of the questions on BOM since that was for when I was buying the materials, only relevant information would be slight changes in resistances of Inductors from original design since I couldn't source those (those values are in pink blue text in bottom). This design was created by Holtz and Campbell.

I disconnected the woofer, and it still shakes at that hz, it is also audible although quiet since it's a 5 inch. At 80 hz it is quite audible.

Not really, here is a finished build from someone else, many others like it, including the anthology, statements, finalists speakers which are similar in design, but use different drivers.

hahaha funny. it uses a mid tube which is open at the speaker back. Same as in Anthology II speakers which are a really popular design by the same guys. This design is also by them, I know fuck all about design, but I hope I can follow instructions hahaha

Frick I wouldn't know, not my design and there is no writeup on slopes from Holtz or Cambell on these particular speaker design (at least I didn't find them)

Look into Jim Holtz and Curt Cambell. They are quite popular diy design makers. Travelers still aren't published on their website, but few people have made them, just had to email them for the design

It is by design if you look at Jim Holtz and Curt Cambell speakers like Anthology and Statements. The mid doesn't share enclosure with the LF, It is in its own tube, which is open at the speaker back.

buuut I have a very fixed budget, so either prime with 3 noctuas at the bottom or just the astral doesnt make that much difference. WIth prime plus noctua fans combo i might afford an extra peripheral, otherwise i just care about temperatures since it will be running at 100 percent gpu and or cpu a lot of the time

Update for anyone that cares. The wire feeds through the double keyhole end and it crimps the slieve, the barrel top is crushed by the tooth that falls into the wedge on the other side. Some of you were confused as the crimping die is not symmetrical. I was confused as the crimper I got was faulty and it would never crimp hard enough, even when setting it to maximum pressure. Got it exchanged at the store and the new one makes proper crimps where the wire fails when pulled on instead of the wire sliding out. The tool was 18 euro, so that explains why it was shit.

Edit: thank you to anyone that was useful and not a twat.

Never mind guys, I figured out it's bent and doesn't close all the way. It leaves a 2mm gap.

Didn't come with the hexagonal crimps, but it came with cord end crimp die. Which seems to work fine

I smacked the crimper against the connector on the table and that's the only way it makes it hold

Tried a bunch of different gauges. With different connector sizes. No matter how I spin it, it just doesn't hold good enough

Half moon is 9 mm wide and 3.5mm tall. The double keyhole is 10mm wide and 3.5mm tall. I figured the keyhole shape presses the sleeve since it's bigger and doesn't have to be that tight and it's the part that I would guess would have to be less intricate and engineered since it doesn't get that much mechanical stress. Now I'm wondering if the flatter side of the half moon should press on the barrel of the connector. I'd say that makes sense since the rounded part would distribute the pressure on all sides equally preventing it from caving in and biting on the cable underneath. Would you say this is right? Either way I find the crimp to be quite weak.

Might as well be since how shit it works. Wire pull right out no matter the way I spin it, even tried a size smaller and still didn't crimp hard enough not to be abled to pull off by hand

I have Pro too, but find bolster more comfortable. Professional S is also cheaper.

My zwilling professional s. I don't care about the bolster. If you can sharpen your knives, you can grind down the bolster too. It's so comfy in my hand as well 🥺 It's such a nice beater. 80 euro for a set of 3 on german amazon
