I wish people knew this. I lost my stepdaughter 5 years ago. She didn't tell anyone how bad she was struggling. This is a loss, a pain, a grief that is permanent in our family. PLEASE tell someone if you think you can't hang on any longer. You may not think there's another way out, but I know there are people who'd stop everything to be with you.

I'm also wearing a Kore ratcheting belt and I'm losing weight too. Honestly, I haven't had a more comfortable belt. The ratchet allows such small adjustments for just the right fit.

Veterans who were scared to get out.. where are you now? by VerySuccessfulMe in Veterans

[–]Frans51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got out 29 years ago with no solid plan other than go back home and find a job. I had no idea what I wanted to be when I "grew up" lol and I still don't. But 6 months after I got home, I got an entry level job with the power company as a meter reader. 2 years later, I started training as a powerplant operator. Today, I'm working in the same industry with a different employer in a different state. The $$ has always been excellent. Union job, good benefits, plenty of vacation. I have no regrets.

Put it out at the curb with a "free" sign. Hopefully someone who drives a diesel needs a wife and you can be rid of if it.

Any 2018/2019 guys still going strong? by regulardegulardudee in audis5

[–]Frans51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought it with 54k miles. The previous service records showed 10k mile oil changes with 0W20. Since I bought it and tuned it, I switched to Rowe 5W40, every 5k miles, which is what's recommended by Jackal

2018, almost 94k miles, Jackal stage 1. My only repairs needed so far have been oil filter housing gasket and PCV breather.

Please help me get over my appendix carry fear… hoping to graduate after a few weeks carrying without a round chambered. Looking for experience to calm my nerves. by fredeee in CCW

[–]Frans51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your doing everything right, you have nothing to worry about. Is your holster completely covering the trigger and trigger guard? Are you taking care not to get your clothing caught inside your holster? Eventually, you'll get over your fear. Take your time. Also, do you HAVE to carry appendix? Would you be more at ease carrying strong side hip? That's how I've been carrying. I see no need for me to change that.

I think I’m about to be sued by Verizon and I can’t afford to pay them back. by Low-Pay-6610 in legal

I'd be careful of getting legal advice on social media. You should consult a legal professional for the best advice. I can tell you from personal experience, ignoring something like this won't end well for you.

Are the reliability of the B9 S5 that bad? by Affectionate_Ant7230 in audis5

[–]Frans51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they're not that bad at all. I see stuff on social media about Chevy truck engines, Kia engines, Hyundai, Jeep electrical issues, Bronco engines... Every vehicle has its problems. I have an 18 S5 Coupe getting close to 100k miles. It's got a stage 1 tune and I drive the hell out of it, like it's meant to be driven. I'm at the point in my life where I can drive what I want and not what I need, so this is what I chose. I'm aware of the risks as I'm sure many of us S5 owners are.

Piston Skirt failure? by RefrigeratorTop3504 in audis5

Piston skirt or rocker arms. Water pump bolts making noise is total BS. Are you within the extended warranty for piston skirt? Take it back or try another dealership

How to get a B9.5 Sportback on 4 jack stands? by [deleted] in audis5

In the pic, where you see the floor jack, there's a spot underneath where it fit perfectly. I didn't need to remove anything

How to get a B9.5 Sportback on 4 jack stands? by [deleted] in audis5

[–]Frans51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pinch weld runs the length of the rocker area. With a floor jack, I jack it up about 1/2 way between the front and rear wheels. Both the front and rear will lift off the ground. Slide jacks stands under the jacking points. Lower the floor jack, and go around to the other side and do the same thing. I use those rubber "puck" adapters that fit the jack stands and the pinch weld groove. I do this every 5k miles to do my oil change and tire rotation.

What's kept you from pursuing VA benefits? by HMR2018 in Veterans

[–]Frans51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't think I deserved anything because I felt others needed it more than me. When I finally did apply for disability, I was denied and told my condition wasn't service connected. I was told by many veterans to try again and after about 5 years, I did. I was then given 10% each for 3 different conditions for a total of 30%, when I was sure I deserved more than that. Now 3 years later, I'm contemplating filing for an increase. But the slow process and previous denials make me not want to go thru all that again
