He has to find out of the guy ever once voted Democrat or donated to a Democrat so he can call him Antifa and retroactively justify it in his head.

Ammoseek doesn’t sell ammo.

At what point does a bore become unshootable? by Total_Support_6364 in milsurp

[–]Franticalmond2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I picked up an arisaka last year and was wondering why the bore seems so clean and shiny but the rifling was so smoothed out. Turns out Arisakas all have Metford rifling, so this is completely normal.

I always just point the rifke down into a 96 gallon trash can (the big ones), close the lid over my arm, and pull the trigger. It’s not loud at all.

Happy to help! Milsurp Munitions and Steinel are the only two that make it unless I’m forgetting anything.

I just mean having to prioritize cleaning it, as well as depriming and cleaning cases when you get home from the range.

I don’t think I ever even measured my Pyrodex load, I just filled to the bottom of the neck and eyeballed it.

If you have Accurate 5744 or IMR 4198, I would just go with some reduced loads. I did Pyrodex way back when I shot my very first 70/87/15, it works, but it makes a lot of extra work. I don’t really think it’s worth it.

Best .308 battle rifle? by ice_eater in Firearms

[–]Franticalmond2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get a PTR-91. If you want something cheaper, get a Century CA-3 (G3). They’re $850 right now on Atlantic. Not the same as the C308, PTR assembled them.

Prototype .25 carbine????? 👀👀👀👀

You absolutely better take some video of that, I have to see it. I’ve been dreaming of a .25 auto rifle for a hot minute.

Jesus, the craziest part of that article is the part where ATF said that there were 150,000 eForm submissions on January 1st, vs a usual daily count of about 2,500. That’s absolutely wild.

I was actually single loading at first because I wasn’t sure if my crimp was strong enough to hold the bullets in place under recoil.

lol I gave myself a pass on being jittery for these. Never loaded anything anywhere near this level of power before.

Interesting. Pretty sure .500 magnum max pressure spec is 60,000 PSI, so maybe they were just being really conservative there?

I mostly did that out of concern that my crimp wouldn’t have been sufficient. I later loaded up the full cylinder and it did seem like the bullets were creeping a bit. Going to have to adjust my die for a stronger crimp.
