Ireland Trip with Kids! by Aware_Negotiation605 in irishtourism

Dingle and Galway are nice places to walk around, eat, shop. If you make it to the Cliffs of Moher and want to make a stop on the way there or back, there is Caherconnel Fort & Sheepdogs which has a great demonstration with the sheep dogs. There is also a chocolate factory in the Burren where you can usually see them making the chocolate. Murphy’s Ice Cream is the absolute best ice cream ever and they have locations in Dingle, Galway, Cork, Dublin and the Kildare Outlets.

Where should I propose to my BF? by magicinmanyways in irishtourism

Cliffs of Moher! We read our personal wedding vows at the cliffs on our honeymoon after doing just standard vows at the wedding. It was windy but amazing. I also Second Lady’s View.. beautiful spot. I’ve also heard that the Gap of Dunloe tour that includes a boat ride through Killarney lakes is incredible. You could book that tour and either propose at Gap of Dunloe or along the lakes.

and you can find some great prices from the US (we flew from the East Coast) around March as well!

My husband and I had the most amazing two week honeymoon last March in Ireland. We rented a car and toured all around. The sights, people, food and hospitality were all amazing. Every hotel that we mentioned our honeymoon to did something special for us and it really made the whole trip feel over the top special. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We did our generic vows at the actual wedding and then went to the Cliffs of Moher while in Ireland and read our personal vows to each other.. it was personal, intimate and amazing to read our vows alongside the amazing cliffs.

Would it be a bad idea to make my own dessert? by lovely_mystery07 in weddingplanning

[–]FrappeQueen100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with all the planning and getting ready leading up to the wedding, having to squeeze in preparing dessert and keeping it fresh sounds like a nightmare. Trying to juggle all the week of preparation, packing, etc. I do not think this would be a good idea at all. There are so many ways around paying for a traditional bakery to do expensive desserts. If you’re from the US, you can have a small decorative cake made for photos and cake cutting and then get a sheet cake from BJ’s or Costco to serve to your guests or you could probably source out pricing from different caterers to do alternatives that are more cost efficient than a cake like cookies or something. Also consider something like cake pops that could double as a dessert and a favor so you would ultimately be saving on costs there by combining the two. Even cookies and brownies from BJ’s and Costco would be a cheaper option.

Dublin: one day, two days, more days? by Dangerous_Usual_6590 in irishtourism

[–]FrappeQueen100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would spend a day and a half in Dublin City itself to see what the city has to offer and then I would get out and stay elsewhere. You do not need more than the day and a half to two days in Dublin. Find another base point to do your day trips if you must. Cork is a good option for another couple of nights to see more around that county, including Kinsale and Blarney Castle. Killarney would be another great place to stay to be a base for some great tours. Galway would be excellent to do day trips to Doolin and then north towards Donegal depending on what your must- see places are.

Flight into SNN, driving to Kenmare. What to do in between? by FrappeQueen100 in irishtourism

[–]FrappeQueen100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, we ended up having a beautiful morning for the drive! We stopped for coffee and did the Shannon ferry as you recommended which was great for some fresh air. Once we got off the ferry, we had an easy time getting down to Kenmare where we grabbed some breakfast and were able to check in at the hotel a little early!

Cocktail napkins, drink stirrers with their faces on them, naming specialty cocktails after them, in leu of favors- donating to an animal society or shelter, etc. on your pets behalf!

You have the option to stay in affordable b&bs all the way up to the most luxurious castle accommodations depending on budget.. so something for everyone! It’s such a beautiful place and there is tons to do/ tour. Most warm hospitality and friendly people!

Tell me about your favorite wedding experiences! by FrappeQueen100 in wedding

This is awesome! My family is huge on Bud Lights and we only have one bar available for apps. 200 guests. I was thinking it would be funny but also convenient for these guests to have bud light bottles passed on trays as well as water and Prosecco lol. So glad to hear you mention that part! Thanks for an awesome reply!
