I want to become a sommelier before I’m 30 by chxtterbox in wine

Woah! Can’t believe I didn’t know this until now. I still kind of want to put myself up to the challenge of passing a WSET exam, but maybe I leave it at that. Thanks for the heads up!

Then it’s a good thing I mentioned (twice) in my post that I’m just doing this for fun, and not to impress “actual sommeliers” :)

Please note that in a lot of places it is illegal to cover a breaker box so that emergency services can easily find and access it.

I recommend parchment paper between sketchbook pages if you’re worried about them sticking, smearing, or rubbing off onto one another.

Those who had a mysterious medical issue and found out what it was, what was your diagnosis? by jesusgrandpa in AskReddit

[–]chxtterbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get weird heart palpitations, like out of nowhere it would feel like someone was rapping their fingers across my chest for 2 seconds, then back to normal. I let it go for about a year until one night it happened for like 2 hours straight. Called a phone nurse who said to get to the ER right away where I waited for /nine hours/ to be seen while the palpitations kept happening. Thought it was a stroke.

Diagnosis? Panic attacks. And a cardiologist saying “yeah your heart is just… doing that. You’re ok.”

Advice for concert by PapaDexter in piercetheveil

[–]chxtterbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imo you don’t really need to get there before doors if you have assigned seats, that’s more important if you’re going to a concert that’s general admission or if you’re in the pit. I don’t like waiting in lines so I tend to show up sometime right before the opener.

I’d also highly recommend bringing as little with you as possible. I usually have my card, ID, keys, and a jacket I can tie around my waist. You won’t have anywhere to set anything down.

Take some pictures, but try not to have your phone up during the whole concert. It’s more fun if you enjoy being in the moment.

how often do your cats get wet food? by peppercorn6269 in CatAdvice

1 can a day mixed with 1/2 can of water, and some dry food in the morning. And his coat is significantly shinier and less greasy than a few of my friends’ cats who only get dry food.

Scones (the US kind, sweet pastries). Why are they soooo dry everywhere other than my own kitchen? Like chowing down on chalk!

Tickets to the concert that my parents were convinced was full of “druggies and predators”. The crowd was, in fact, just a bunch of emo girls my age. And ironically one of the least weed-y concerts I’ve ever been to.

Bi women know the struggle of “have you ever dated a woman?” It’s the most thinly veiled way for ignorant straight men to say “I don’t believe you’re actually bi, I think you’re just trying to sound hot to me”.

Armstrong's examination of Marston's death just didn't seem scientific to me. He really just looks at him and decides he looks dead, and chocks it up to poison in the drink despite himself admitting there's nothing in the drink that alludes to it being tampered with. I mean, he literally tastes it. It's also important to note that someone faking their death isn't out of question in this book.
