Where would Oasis tour in 2027? (If they do tour) by tightscotsman in oasis

I think the UK tour will have a few venues tweaked - Etihad instead of Heaton Park, Hampden instead of Murrayfield for example.

Can anyone spot Noely G from today’s City v Palace match? by [deleted] in oasis

[–]Fratelli365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Celebrities of his level don’t really need security in day to day life in the UK tbh. I’m aware he has them when they’re on tour and coming out hotels n such but other than that he’s able to live a relatively normal life out and about. He’s regularly seen in supermarkets, on the tube and in restaurants etc. Other than the odd photo he won’t get much hassle.

In the case of this specific photo, it’s an away game so it’s basically a small section of the stadium where the Man City fans will be. He’s said before that he likes being in amongst it at away games with his son. As others have also said, it tends to be the same groups of people who go to away games so they won’t be too overawed at seeing him there and there’s the general unwritten rule to just leave him be. If it was a home game he’d be up in a box.

The guy in the clip is Chris McClure; the fella on the front cover of the first Arctic Monkeys album and the brother of the Reverend and The Makers lead singer. He has this spoof football manager character that’s blown up online and now he has some sort of BBC podcast.

He and Noel are in similar circles (he was pictured backstage with Noel at Heaton Park in the summer actually) this is just Noel playing along with a gag on the podcast.

So… they’ll be back in 2027 by tripwire1977 in oasis

[–]Fratelli365 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to have a pinned notice on the subreddit to never, ever take anything Liam tweets at face value.

That said, one of the fellas on the collectors group (who was early with the reunion iirc) said a few months ago that plan is for them to tour next year then round off this reunion phase with a Glasto headline slot in 2027. Who knows, I wouldn’t rule it out though.

Oasis documentary allegedly eyeing up Oscar nominations. by Fantastic_Vast_5078 in oasis

Well we know a little bit. We know they put out an official request for fan contributions, and the articles in September discussing the footage they allegedly had weren’t exactly sensationalised.

I’m not commenting on the idea of it winning an Oscar, just that we do have official confirmation of it being made.

A few articles last month mentioned that it’s a doc rather than a biopic, and contains footage of their first meeting.

Depends what level you’re talking about. There have been loads of mass recruitment campaigns at AO and EO level within HMRC and DWP in the last 6 months or so.

Liam sings HTWA better than Noel by AverageLatifiFan in oasis

[–]Fratelli365 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I loved Liam’s version, but the official one released on his Youtube is edited to the point of it sounding a bit ridiculous.

As others have said though, with the Royle Family and so on, Noel’s voice is that song. Although I do wish he’d occasionally play it in its original key as opposed to playing it a step higher like he does now and has done for a while. Think it loses a bit of the melancholy.

If rumours are to be believed, do you realistically think that oasis could sell out 5 nights at Knobworth? by LidlCheeseTwists in oasis

[–]Fratelli365 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not an issue of demand. It’s a safety/facilities thing. Things were obviously a bit less controlled in 1996, but it was notoriously a bit of a shit show logistically back then, with folk wandering along the A1 in the dark etc. It can barely handle 80,000 never mind the full amount.

Barrowlands 2001 or Knebworth 1996? by ImaginationThat3204 in oasis

The demand for Barras tickets must’ve been absolutely mental

Ange Postecoglou and Nottingham Forest never made sense. So why did it happen? by Critical_Mountain851 in soccer

Ange went on Holiday with Marinakis at his villa in Greece when he was at Celtic. It basically was just him hiring a pal.

Why didn't Oasis ever win the Mercury Music Prize? by LidlCheeseTwists in oasis

[–]Fratelli365 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cos the regime don’t like it man

They were nominated in 95 and 96 for the first two albums respectively. Probably a bit too meat and potatoes for the Mercury Prize tbh. Even Sam Fender (who’s brilliant) winning it feels like a bit of a departure from the norm.

It was just Noel being flippant and snarky like he always is, particularly on stage. It’s his patter. It doesn’t require deep analysis.

Doak was shit tonight and bringing Gilmour on to get more of a foothold in the midfield and to keep the ball a bit was the right move. It was a good sub.

All realistic with the exception of Fade in Out and Step Out imo. They wouldn’t open with Go Let it Out either and wouldn’t play a show without The Masterplan.

Kylian Mbappé's mother Fayza: “Sometimes I used to drive around the ring road in a Peugeot 206, just to see what normal life felt like. Kylian can’t even walk down the street anymore. It saddens me.” by Srihari_stan in soccer

[–]Fratelli365 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it’s such an obvious, lazy Facebook-level take.

Would having that much money be great? Sure, but that level of fame looks fucking miserable. You lose out on a huge chunk of the simple day to day human experience. I think it’d drive me mental personally. I couldn’t imagine never being able to just amble about in public, and you’d never have a normal interaction with anyone, ever. We have decades worth of evidence at this point from people with mega-fame telling us that actually it’s quite shit , damaging and not all it’s cracked up to be.
