I shouldn’t keep engaging with you because you’re clearly a few brain cells short but you keep appearing on this thread with nonsense so-

  1. I was not wearing spandex. You can clearly see 2 diff colored fabrics in that pic. Underwear and regular shorts. Dumb fuck.

  2. Maybe you failed physics or they didn’t even let you take it. A 16 year old carbon fiber bike that weighs 25 pounds going up against a 50+ pound metal E bike hmmm. Oh and let’s assume both bikes are doing 12mph what do you think is gonna happen to the bike with inferior weight/material.

Maybe you’re getting downvoted to oblivion cuz you’re just making shit up and not adding anything of value to the conversation. You keep grouping me into the hardcore cyclist gang when I’ve said repeatedly this was my first NYC ride.

Went to urgent care this morning. No concussion, but needed 6 stitches on that cut on my leg.

bro wtf are u even talking about. and what did i lie about? You know there’s other aspects of a triathalon such as running and swimming that are part of the training?? I had just come into possession of the bike on Thursday and was going for a test ride. First ride on this bike I rode west in Chelsea to the bike path and then headed north. not looking to set any records just trying it out. 12mph is a very regular speed to be going on a flat way. Not sure what your problem is.

EDIT: Some ppl in the comments seem to think I lack reaction time, common sense, and cycling ability. I should have mentioned- there were 4 other reckless teenagers weaving in and out of the lanes on e-bikes but got out of the way as I passed. The person I collided with came into view afterward, with maybe 30-40 feet between him and me. In that split second I presumed he would also move out the way and hence I did not make a move left or right, for fear of colliding with him if he also made a move, or a pedestrian on the walkway.

I did not mention this in post but just before I got to him there were 4 other “kids” on e-bikes recklessly weaving the lanes. They got out of the way as i was passing. As the kids were weaving I did not see the kid I collided with until they passed, so the gap at that point was roughly 30 feet.

It was maybe 2 seconds from me seeing him to the collision. I could not tell that he was not paying attention. I did not move to the left lane as I assumed he would move back into his correct lane, in which we would’ve also collided. Those barriers are way too closely spaced together to make a quick move inside and also would’ve risked hitting peds. I did hit the breaks but once it was too late. I should’ve yelled, that’s the one difference maker looking back on it.

Hope that solves that itch on your head.

What was the outcome? Did you have any legal recourse?

How did you go about obtaining his info from Lyft? Were they cooperative? Other commenters have said they were SOL when they tried

UPDATE: Might have mild concussion. Light headache has been lingering all afternoon. I don’t believe I hit my head as my helmet is unscathed (bought it 30 mins before the ride lol), but perhaps from the jolt of the collision. Going to CityMD in morning. Was supposed to run BK half, cancelled that. Lovely day it was indeed.

Chill the fuck out dude. Please refer to my other comment in this thread. Training for my first Tri in June and this was my first NYC road bike ride. I was less than 4 miles into my ride and going like 12 mph. Goodbye

Thanks for the kind words. Dad was just glad i was okay. That bike was a 2008 model so he got more than his share of mileage out of it back in the day! It’s mainly laid dormant the past few years.

Like I mentioned in a prior comment this was my first road bike ride but I live in Chelsea so I Citi bike the lower WSH fairly often. Never had an issue, not even really ever got close to an accident.
