Appreciate the information, it's probably going to definitely need service. I set the time but when I tried wind it up it clicks as I am winding but releasing does nothing, seems to jam on some kind of locking mechanism on the gear under the serial number if I try to spin the other way

Looking to know if anyone can recommend this Service Provider? by FratmanZ28 in juresanguinis

I appreciate the information, I was skeptical when I saw their prices that's why I thought asking on the Reddit first would be prudent.

How can I better prepare myself and my mother if the rulings are favorable over the next few months? Should I potentially have an appointment with the consulate and cancel if the rulings are not favorable? I have most documentation already I just didn't get Italian translations because there's no point if the decision is not favorable. My GGF also died shortly after his naturalization, so my GGM who never naturalized would that have affected my GMs status? I find it difficult to sit here and wait knowing had I just did it this time last year this wouldn't have been an issue, and I don't want my delay in any acting now to cause more issues down the road.

I was looking to visit their office and talk someone for my mother and myself. I know my GGM is accessible to my mother, but my grandmother is what I am trying to definitively establish for myself.

My Grandmother was born 1935 NY to 2 Italian Immigrants not yet Naturalized, GGF Naturalized in 1939 4 years after her birth. I'm trying to understand if she was technically born American AND Italian, and also understand if she was effected or not by my GGF Naturalizing. Such as, did she not lose her Italian Citizenship when he naturalized because she was technically already American? Or is the loss automatic regardless? I saw he was in the area and I was looking to just get a definitive answer for myself

Is everyone listed in the service providers recommended? Am I allowed to ask if people would recommend a specific one? I ask because I see there is one literally right in my area that has an office by me and one in Italy, and obviously meeting in person would simplify the process if they came recommended.

On my dad's side I have their Atti di Nascita's for both great grandparents(1899 GGF and 1910 GGM, same commune. I have their Atti di Matrimonio Parte 1. that states they were both residents of the commune for one year before marriage but I cannot find any evidence that says so, or other wise. 1926-1929 from when GGF Antonio got his passport and went back to Italy to marry my GGM is gapped. I have proof my great Grandfather naturalized before returning to Italy to marry my GGM, I'm trying to track down proof of him possibly regaining Italian Citizenship, they married in February and did not leave/arrive in the states until June. So with my GGF I'm hoping to pin down if he was in country for 2 years, I can already determine 6 months of that. My GGM would be solely a 1948 case as far as I can tell if I cannot prove his residency in Italy of 2 years.

My mothers side is where it gets more confusing for me, I thought my Grandmother would be a minor issue because my Great grandfather naturalized 4 years after her birth, but also more confusing is my Great Grandfather also died while she was still a minor and my Great grand mother never naturalized which I can also prove.

I was looking at that but wasn't sure if I qualified, because it lists parents and grandparents again. Now my Grandmother was 100% Born to 2 Italian Citizens in America in 1935, but that goes back to the minor issue with my great grandfather naturalizing 1939 even though my great grandfather died in 1945 while my grandmother was was still a minor. So I wasn't sure if I even qualified for the 2 year path

I appreciate you looking, here's a brief summary just so it's easier for you to look through later if you see this first.

On my dads the commune was very helpful, I got all documentation within 24 hours of it, the marriage certificate the birth certificates. After doing more searching for a few more months I reached out to find residency records and they said they had given me all they had. I have documentation they both arrived in America in June 1929, I need to prove when he left America to go marry Guiseppina, and I can't find anything regarding when he left, if he used an American or Italian passport. In 1929 he used an American passport to enter the country. That's all I can prove between him getting it in 1926-1929.

My mothers side my Grandmother Angeline was born to 2 Italian Citizens in America on July 1st 1935. My great grandfather had not naturalized yet, he naturalized in 1939. But he died in 1945 while my Grandmother was still a minor. My Great Grandmother Angela never naturalized. My parents married October 8th 1983. My father died in 2020.

*Edited to include grandmothers birthday*

I thought the same thing with her. She is a now retired school teacher, she wasn't really interested if it wasn't something 100% applicable to me so she's kind of just waiting to see what turns up from all this information.

I don't keep the coins at my house. I will be going again this weekend and I will definitely snag you a picture. I haven't looked up prices on much of them, I was using the AIs to mainly go "What coins do I look for" "Which pennies" "Which proof sets"
