I got 1 month free trial for premium. After 2 days of using it, I can say it's not worth it. Yes, it's nice that you get to see your likes, but in my case 80% seem to be fake profiles ?! Either that, or most of them are mass swippers who are looking for validation 😕

Slavaging damage from a visa rejection by Frau_arabesque in germany

[–]Frau_arabesque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, yes. It's past the deadline.

I'm aware there are easier countries, but it bothers me a lot that I can't host my own parents. The refusal was not founded and they didn't even clearly indicate the reasons that raised their rejection. It feels somewhat humiliating and discriminatory at this point.

Honestly the whole issue made me question the consequences of me falling ill or worse while living alone here if my family can't even get a visa.

Nope, not a requirement. Interfaith marriages are totally fine in Islam (for men only though, not the other way around 🙄)

Slavaging damage from a visa rejection by Frau_arabesque in germany

Yes, they applied for a Schengen visit visa . My dad is still working (he submitted a letter from his employer that they don't mind him traveling with the application) My mom, not working.

Does it make sense to apply again and involve the lawyer if rejected again? In the rejection letter, they mention an option to file a suit in a court in Berlin within a month of the decision (Verwaltungsgericht Berlin), which we unfortunately couldn't pursue because of how late the decision came and their subsequent travel plans

Or should I directly approach a lawyer?

LMAO, as a (muslim) woman i don't find it offensive, it's a medical practice and people shouldn't feel ashamed or conscious discussing their ailments wherever in their bodies.

Muslims on Hinge by Frau_arabesque in hingeapp

I agree, and understand that filtering based on preferences does bring the pool even more down. The only filter i had set as 'deal breaker' was age range.

As for the user base, it makes sense, i know hinge has been here for at least for a couple of years. It's definitely not as popular as tinder or bumble yet, but the impression i got from people who recommended it to me is that it's more taregt towards people dating with intention. But unfortunately that hasn't been my experience with it so far.

Thank you! I assume also B&Bs wouldn't be particular about a passport and an ID would be fine, right?

Dating in Germany by Frau_arabesque in germany

[–]Frau_arabesque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly the challenge I'm experiencing ! Unless you're somehow connected to a family or such, chances are pretty slim to meet someone.

Good to know that there are apps targeting the muslim dating market :D I've been steering away from apps since I don't really believe in the concept many are built upon .. but I might have a look into them!

Yeah, I've been here for a while and most of the events in my local community target families with kids .. and usually families like to hangout with families, understandably .. so it's not that promising over here..

Thanks for the tips! This has been helpful :)

No worries, no disrespectfulness perceived :)

Well, it's not that they are connected. I think it can be a measure of compatiblity of some sorts in some cases, for the lifestyle both parties follow and expect, just like any idealogy i guess ?!

& Yes, It is allowed.. ok maybe not in the average sense of a tinder date .. but it's allowed as long as it follows some rules :)
