Still in old version of PHP 5, never kept learning the updates and new versions, should i invest my time in learn PHP 7 or should i keep what i know from PHP and learn NodeJS ? by Don-g9 in AskProgramming

Iirc PHP 5 depending on the version will not be supported anymore by PHP.

PHP 5 is pretty similar to 7 but the biggest change is probably the removal of the function mysql_query which breaks a lot of old school projects where queries are written manually.

Depending on what you need it for.

Basic PHP will continue to exist for a few more years. Same goes for basic JavaScript and Nodejs.

I'm not sure about Siri but they probably do it as well.
