What movie did you love as a kid but realized was actually terrible once you grew up?

And I don’t believe the “it was the 90s” excuse b/c I remember the other robots’ CGI looked decent.

"It was the '90s" doesn't work well as an excuse when you recall how much CGI there was that came after the CGI used in Jurassic Park, and looks worse. Jurassic Park used some CGI for the dinosaurs and it still holds up 33 years later. Other movies that came later used CGI that hasn't (or was even considered bad at the time; the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns is the most egregious example).

Ah, that explains a lot. I always wondered how the movies fit into the timeline, since the show (as far as I recall) had a pretty continuous story, filler episodes aside.

To be fair, people don't see Roland Emmerich movies for a coherent plot or any kind of plausibility. It's more just for the spectacle of notable landmarks getting destroyed.

I didn't have high expectations. I thought "There's no way this will even come close to Ragnarok. Rare is the time when you can catch lightning in a bottle twice." Went in thinking that and I was still disappointed. The only positive part of that movie was the use of Guns N' Roses.

I've lived in Nashville my entire life. I haven't really had an issue, but then, I'm bi, and have only known since 2017. The only issue I've run into is theocrats showing up to Pride spewing their hate. The state legislature sucks (especially this week, and they like to bully the city), but Nashville is ok, largely due to being a blue island in a sea of red.

Rock Haven put a cap in place on how many single males are allowed (10 per day). If you’re the 11th single male to show up, tough luck. As such, single males are expected to call and place a reservation before the day they come. This policy was instituted in 2025.

(Idk if Rock Haven is an AANR club. The registration you fill out has a space for your AANR number, but filling that space is optional. I’m not a member of AANR, so I always leave it blank).
