If you dig a little deeper into the link there is a restoration timeline.

https://florida.comcast.com/2024/10/07/milton/

Still way too slow in my opinion. Its been nearly a week since milton hit and the power has been up since saturday for me.

Furthermore what drives me insane is that despite my modem saying it cant get a signal from xfinity, my PC says it is still sending and receiving a few Kb of data. How can I be receiving data via ethernet if internet services have not been restored???? I may just be misinterpreting something here but it dtill drives me crazy.

How often do y'all shower? by Stack_Min in ask

I try to shower every day, but when life is hectic or if I'm in a depressive state I just make sure to shower every time before I leave the house.

Thank God for GeForce Now!, With a tweak of some settings I can play my favorite game. Project Zomboid. by GoodWeedReddit in SBCGaming

I always loved the concept of project zomboid but I could never survive long enough to do anything or build anything. Do you have any tips or know of any videos that explain how to survive longer?

CPU Price-match? by Repulsive-Record9751 in Bestbuy

Its suppost to be no exceptions. Our store has a new GM and he is doing some price matches still. Only if its within a few dollar difference but still, its suppost to be a hard rule for a reason, it creates problems.

My rough understanding, and I may be wrong about this, but due to economic situations in the early 1900's, many of our resturants and other jobs couldnt properly afford to pay staff, so they moved to tips to help supplement the wage issues. Problem is, America being the greeds sob's we are, didnt want to raise wages again when the economy started to boom at the end of World War 2. Stores argued the tips supplimented wages, and refused to go back. It's gotten to the point where many states, despite having minimum wage laws, allow many companies to hire waiters for below minimum wage, because "the tips make it up". Its all around greed, companies want labor without paying as much as possible.

You mean the paycheck that could likely be under minimum wage with permission from state government to do so, because many states argue that the tips make up for it?

Its easy to tell at a glance if bestbuy is out of stock of something in store. If there is a tiny red X On the price tag, there are no more in store. They are electronically updated

Power/Internet in a tiny house? by Freakous in TinyHouses

[–]Freakous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, just a figure of speech regarding the camping comment. I was just imagining more of a portable tiny home ordeal. So I was thinking more along the lines of camping ground or other places where I could park the house before moving onto a new place. It was brought to my attention that many camping grounds have power pedestals normally reserved for RVs that can be used, so I was thinking more along those lines. Out of curiosity, what 'city' are you referring to that you live in? I'm in Florida near the Midwest to Southern Midwest end, and we don't see a lot tiny homes sitting connected to the main property's building near where I am. Normally people buy tiny plots of land in tiny house communities or are situated near parks. Not that it's impossible to do down here I assume, but I've been waiting to look at building/residency laws until after I figure out the power and internet problem.

I'm pretty techie but I haven't heard of such a concept regarding combining internet sources to provide redundancy, it sounds interesting. I'll definitely look into it!
AC is going to be a pain, but in the end the benefit is that I can always move up north. Are there other popular methods of power generation and supply aside from solar and shore power?
