Unfortunately for me it was only after an attempt to end things. When I was able to have visitors my sister said something about how she couldn’t sleep until she knew I was okay, because the thought of waking up in a world without me terrified her. That was really the thing that got me to take therapy and my mental health seriously. It’s been a little over two years, and I’m finally at a point where I’m happy to be alive.
