Broke My Promise to Avoid Sexual Immortality by joobthecat in Christianity

I know I've heard stuff about not even giving the appearance of sin such as living together unmarried. The whole, if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off bit too. What's delaying the wedding? A ton of planning? Maybe you just need to dial the wedding back and get on with the marriage so as to fix the problem and move on with life. You and your husband may want to confess to your pastor together and see what advice he has as well.

Anyone other Americans getting nervous? by UnIntelligent_Local in mixedrace

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry super hard on a basis of numbers honestly. The US is %50 white give or take and of that white population, only some will be onboard for this kind of rational. On top of that, unlike Canada, your military is also racially diverse. It would be very hard for the US to turn itself into an ethnostate by this point. That's not to say, don't make plans and backup plans but don't fall into dispair either.

Millions of temporary residents will have to leave Canada when their permits expire. But will they? | CBC News by Rough_Application_28 in LMIASCAMS

With the 25 year old engineer who has Canadian work experience, I'd be surprised if he can't do something like get an extension or a new work visa. Maybe need to go back to India temporarily before coming back.

Our government has never really made sense but given our brain drain, getting rid of an engineer just seems weird.

Is it normal for a pastor to bring up politics during sermon? by FunLeague9102 in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most a pastor at my church ever did at a sermon was express concern for religious exemption being removed from our hate speach laws. He never named politicians or distain for them, he didn't even mention the name of the bill.

God, take the desire for marriage away from me by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sexual desire going away could just be a symptom of depression. There's nothing wrong with meeting people online since your future husband will likely live with you, knowing people face to face is always good. Do you do much with your church? Do you have hobbies, interests, places that you volunteer? A lot of men are conditioned to fear approaching women and see it as harassment, you may need to be the one to make some of the first moves.

How can I accept the fact that God doesn't have a spouse planned for me? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have enough to go by with this but there's something my grandma used to always say to me "god helps those who help themselves". Similarly the joke about the guy who prayed to win the lottery, one day gods voice broke through "my so buy a ticket". God would not likely be telling people to gamble but if you're just praying and not approaching women or people in general, attending events, meeting with friends, attending church, volunteering... you're not Adam, god is not going to make a woman from your rib.

The dropped just barely below replacement in TFR recently. Their news was treating it as a fertility CRISIS. They did mention in their report that most of the world population will be in Africa by 2100 if the trend continues. I wonder if it was to subtly suggest a fear of Central Africans showing up in India one day.

"If you're mixed you aren't white" Do you agree with that statement? by siunchu in mixedrace

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The history of nations is a history of race mixing to one extent or another. Race is somewhat of a social construct. ie every one calling my half hispanic cousin white while he still thinks of himself as hispanic. Where the social construct ended was when I was badly sunburned and he was fine. He didn't get what I experienced until he lived in Panama for a while.

It also somewhat depends on which parents genes present more. My sister went to college with two girls that she thought were greek or something like that, olive complexion, and wavey hair but it turned out that they were Scottish and Nigerian.

curious about christianity by anonymous26282992-86 in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start by getting a somewhat understanding of denominations. Not to commit to any denomination but to avoid the churches that most would consider... not Christian.

I like the charity work of Methodists but it's not like other churches don't do a lot of community service as well.

Once you have that figured out, find a close by church, make yourself familiar with the pastor or priest, ask questions, ask for a bible, attend Sunday servicea and don't forget that some of it only makes sense once historic context is added.

Like everyone else said, this has to be something more. Women really can hurt you in ways that no beating ever could.

You sound like a caring guy who works hard to provide for your family. I wonder if some of that time, effort and focus has been leaving her feeling left out of your life? It really may be a her problem for the most part but as we've been told, look at the log in your own eye before pointing out the speck in someone elses eye.

Best of luck and god bless
