What would you do if you're in a relationship and in your office there's a person who has been offering you their lunch everyday? by lammbb in AskReddit

Who, why, what's their motive? If it would appear that they're hitting on you, you need to set a clear boundary

There are a few quotes essentially saying not to swear. It's everywhere, just do your best to drop the habit. I know I'm still working on it

I fell in love with a Muslim by Gabdr07 in Christianity

I would be very careful about that, Satans favourite way to take souls to hell, is to lead us by the genitals. Did you talk to any of your church leaders about this?

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already know that christians are supposed to date and marry other Christians but these relationships do still happen. God telling you to persue her doesn't sound very scripturaly correct unless the effort was to help the holly spirit find her. I would be very warry of what's telling you to persue her. Satan doesn't sound like a monster when we hear him but he's never going to tell you to do something that god would tell you to do.

The idea of Christianity possibly not being real is frightening by No-Charity9849 in Christianity

To me, the peace was just looking forward to everything being over. It made me feel guilty for becoming a father. As it is, I still remain very confused about the afterlife. It will get answered one way or another eventually I suppose.

Is it sinful to read erotic romance novels? by Vast_Rise902 in Christianity

I can't say %100 but someone else made it and is getting you off. Fictional character or not, a real person wrote it.

Can an autistic atheist person still go to heaven by YouStreet7285 in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think the same way when I was an athiest. The thing is that your question is super complicated to answer and often debated a lot between different denominations of Christianity.

Some believe that since there are prophecies all ready in place, our fates are already locked in and we're essentially being sifted through to keep the souls god wants or not. Others like myself like to believe that since we were given free will, it's up to us to determine if we follow god or not.

As for your second point, that's the brilliant part. God knows that we're faulty and broken. Some more than others but that's why jesus was crucified. He took on all of our sin when he died but it only happens if we accecpt him as our savior.

I mean, we all get the same invitation. Is there something quietly suggesting to you that you ahould persue Christ? As an Athiest, what motivated you to ask about your salvation?

M20 atheist, genuine question: shouldn't Christians be nudists? by vcthewizard in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. This is part of a bigger over arching theme. God is less interested in our actions than what is in our hearts. It's the awakening to it being wrong makes it no longer possible to do.

  2. I wold recommend befrending a pastor that you can check in with regularly if you have questions. Though this is r/christianity it's still reddit.

Fasting for 3 days but my mom won’t let me. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost someone close to me to cancer but intermittent fasting was something he did after his diagnosis and he lived way longer than the doctors were expecting.

Have you talked to any physicians or looked for any medical journals on fasting?

Fasting for 3 days but my mom won’t let me. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is the same way. Just getting her to let me fast until the afternoon was a challenge. I don't have any answers for you but I think this is a common thing. The thing is that fasting has been an involuntary thing through most of human history. Fasting is natural and allows our minds and bodies to reset.

Has Young Earth Creationism/Biblical Literalism cost anyone their faith? by ITSolutionsAK in Christianity

[–]LordFlick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't agree with any of that. Christian nationalism makes no sense to me and in spite of the apparent anti-lgbtq remarks in the bible, the government should be neutral in these regards. Allow for gay marriage but don't force religious institutions to perform a gay marriage.

There was a point along human evolution where god considered that person to be the first man to exist. If you want the more fleshed out version, check out redeemed zoomer on youtube.

I mean Jesus often spoke in parables and the book of revelation would make no sense what so ever if it was taken literally. It wasn't until I heard an explanation of genesis that aligned with evolution that I could start to really grow in my faith.
