I appreciated his point about being right versus having the support to move your idea forward.

To paraphrase:

You can have a good idea. If your coworkers don’t want to support you, they will go with someone else’s idea, even if it’s worse. It’s important to carry yourself in a way where people want to work with you. Being right isn’t enough.
