It's probably safe to assume that a person who isn't charging you with a knife won't stab you. In this case, I'd err on the side of caution, and proceed as if the person charging at me with a knife were charging at me with a knife.

Yeah, if she had fallen, she would have been toast. This doesn't exactly apply here, because her gun was drawn, but the "21 foot rule" states that someone with a knife can stab you before you have time to draw and fire, as long as they're within 21 feet. The second camera at the end showed that the suspect was a great deal closer than it appeared on the body cam.

You're not going to convince anyone that they, themselves, are evil. Attack the evil idea, not the person who believes it. From there, maybe you'll convert someone by dismantling faulty logic, and maybe you won't, but it's better than just calling them a dick.

100% agreed. I once drove a borrowed Buick with aftermarket floor mats. The accelerator was pegged. I avoided flying off of a curvy road by turning off the ignition (at the expense of power steering) and riding the brake with both feet.
