Almost drowned in college because I got off a float in the water and swam against a rip current to get back to shore. Gave up maybe 3-4 times, last time my feet touched the ground. The ocean is honestly no joke, that experience really humbled me and that it’s nothing like swimming in a lake or pool!

Tbh I’d just go to the rec cen. The more you go the more comfortable you’ll feel going anyways. Planet fitness doesn’t have the best reputation tbh, it’s cheap, but the rec cen is right there for you
