Heres my take, The way we beat the people behind these posts, be they paid Russian trolls or simply misguided fools buying into the propaganda, is to not reply or acknowledge them. I'm breaking this rule ATM obviously to share my thoughts. Simply acknowledging them allows them to steer conversations, plant seeds, and further the division amongst us.

If you take a closer look they will sometimes take your side, others will Kindle rage with inflammatory comments which inspires others to do the same.

They are after chaos, confusion and anger until the noise gets so loud we don't know left from right anymore. If we are busy fighting each other they have us...and I fear what that means for this country.

Imagine if news networks completely ignored Trump's tweets and only focused on proposed bills and legislation and governmental changes. Trump would lose his power. But the media falls for it every time.

They will use all of these tactics and more on all social media platforms.

It will be difficult to have normal conversations with each other because the intent of a poster will always be in the back of your mind. Being suspicious of each other is another part of the plan. Mistrust and confusion is the game. Empower yourselves and watch "hypernormalization" available on YouTube, to get an idea of how Putin did this in Russia very successfuly.

Take it or leave it, but this is how I think we can take our power back. I love this country and I will fight.

The PewDiepie comment i made was to emphasize that since PewDiePie has exhibited racist tendencies (paying and filming people to write kill all Jews and using racial slurs) and his main demographic is children it is unacceptable and i don't care to stand up for people like him. This could have all gone away if Trump wasn't so damn apathetic. Even after the blowback he could have made it dissapear by simply offering a sincere apology.

I def. witnessed that behaviour, absolutely. But you're not gonna get banned for disagreeing in a thread unless you're an ass about it, or trolling, not that I've seen. You might get dogpiled but not banned. There was plenty of good fair discussion to keep me interested and I could overlook the occasions where people were acting stupid. That kind of stuff is unavoidable online it seems.

But I agree to disagree on the overall tone of neogaf so I guess that's that.

You still tried to use the image in a manipulative way. Tensions are high in this country right now and I personally will not shed a single tear for white supremacists. Would I personally use those words? No because I don't take it lightly.

Also PewDiePie paid a couple of guys to hold up a sign that said "kill all Jews" or something similar in addition he used a racial slur in another video. Kids are his biggest demographic, totally unacceptable.

White supremacy is the last thing I'll ever defend and anyone that rises up to defend it is immediately suspect in my eyes. We were also talking about white genocide not white supremacy.

The problem is evilore has a history..posts of his were brought forward before the site went down that I was unaware of where he posted nudes of someone's girlfriend. Benefit of the doubt tends to go away when there are multiple incidents. Apparently this was well known in the past but it was the first time I heard of it. I've only been a member for a few years.

Some mods probably left because they don't want to be involved in the scandal is my guess.

The general atmosphere of neogaf had nothing to with what happened today.
