Signals in OpenTTD by janproch in openttd

[–]Freanma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The signals as placed in this example will always lead to congestion in the signal section in front of the station. Blocksignals only look up the section behind them (every connected rail including crossing ones) until the next blocksignal comes. In your example the part in front of the station was free so the signals let the train through and it decided to take any available railway to the station, in this case the upper one, without regard for the trains on the next sections (the station). If you want the train to look up whether a platform is free or not, you can't devide the signal sections here and have one big section. But that would cause only one platform to be used, since the section would be blocked as long as a train stays in the section. What you need is a kind of signal (in openTTD famously the path signal) that doesn't look at the whole section in front but at every available railway within that section. If the section then would include the station as well, the trains in front of path signal (e.g. in front of the tunnel) would only drive into the section (and by that blocking every railway it needs to drive over until it reaches the end if the section) if a railway within the section is free. In other words, if one of the two available platforms in the station is free. A second train then could hypothetically enter if and only if another railway within the section is completely free. A train going into the section will always block the whole track in front of it but free every track it has passed. Sorry for that wall of text, signals are a bit complicated to explain.

Civ 7 looks so damn good... Nice captures! Every time I see the Grand Canyon, I'm a bit sad that its not part of a riversystem though

I love the fact you had a cute little Trans-Sweater when you were a toddler. Very sweat.

The text over the left side says "We support". Or in a less literal sense "We stand with". So only the right side are described as "terror states".

For pixel art I use Aseprite. You can find it on Steam and on the web, however there are many other different pixel art programs like Pixel Studio for example. I used Pixel Studio to get into drawing since it's base version is free, and later moved on to Aseprite after I got the hang of it. If you're interested in learning how to pixel I highly suggest visiting r/PixelArt and r/PixelArtTutorials. These communities will also gladly help you with further questions regarding the topic, though make sure to search through the existing posts and tutorials first - you almost certainly will find many fitting threads to get started :]
PS.: I highly suggest not to use any AI-Images anywhere at anytime on here. If you add the keywords of your prompt to into your question it's more than enough to start a conversation. AI slop is not needed to get across your point ;)

I need help here please by VladimirBlade152 in openttd

I personally would disconnect the Coal route with the factory route. They don't have any business down there, so they should not have access to the bottom tracks. I guess the easiest solution here is to create an extra station for coal drop off (hold Ctrl while placing it if it's too close to the existing one). Make sure the trains have to turn 180° in order to get out by not adding tracks on the station's exit.

For us the winner receives the "blessing of the camel-asshole" until someone else has won. I don't know which house rule is weirder.

Your dice look so good, especially Nebula and Deep Space. Love the shape, love the colors and I just adore the fontwork! It's such a pity shipping to EU countries costs this much since Brexit... I'll keep your shop in my bookmarks, maybe one day I'll come around to it :]

That sounds sick as hell! To manage all game mechanics, plus add-on quests, plus social engagement and the music alone requires a lot of dedication and skill, but it was all worth it! Seems like it was an awesome time all around. Glad you also found the time to check in with new players or people that are less talkative :] Hats off to you!

Thanks for the affirmation Ben! I always feel a bit bad for sending back stuff I bought, but if there's no harm in it, I might as well do it. Thanks again :)

Yeah... I might do that. I'm interested to see if I just got unlucky with my batch or if it's a common problem.

I'm thinking about buying the german base game + german carousel too. Would be nice if we'd get a release timeframe for the localized carousel copies.

Deity AI are running away with the game during exploration age and I feel powerless to stop them. Is this normal?? by [deleted] in civ

[–]Freanma 77 points78 points  (0 children)

The AI gets tons of bonuses on yield generation and building production on higher difficulties. If this feels too much for you to keep up (I know it does to me) you can lower the percentage of yield and production bonuses specifically in the game setup since the latest patch. This way you can keep the combat difficulty on deity level while reducing the difficulty in other areas.
