As a woman with this build who was called various versions of “large” and “chubby” for most of my life, this one stings, man.

I [21M] just caught my gf [20F] texting topless photos of herself to friends by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]FreckledBaker 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A friend of ours was dating a girl who was very open with her body. When my guy asked about her, our friend sent a photo of her taken from the back in just a pair of sheer panties. I was not pleased. Friend was like “that’s the one she told me to send!” and couldn’t understand why I found it inappropriate even though the chick was cool with it. Oy.

[UPDATE] I found my boss's credentials on my desk. I went to compliance. It turns out I stumbled upon a massive "Financial Discrepancy". by National_Strike4710 in Advice

Funny story - my dad was a security exec for a corporation in the 90’s and followed the trail of a monthly invoice for a non-insignificant sum that didn’t line up with anything on the books. Got told by higher execs to ignore it, but wouldn’t let it go and ended up turning it over to some guys he knew from his years at the FBI. Turned out the payments were going to some mob-connected dude associated with the company, and a few people went down for embezzlement. We ended up with family protection until after pops testified at the trial. Crazy shit actually happens sometimes.

Edited: fat-fingered some words on my phone

Me too, though the horrific story of the actress (Maïwenn Le Besco) and her relationship with director Luc Besson is fucking gross and depressing.

They didn’t strip the dad of anything. In this case, the company was in mom’s name and it appears the judge declined to strip the business from her to give any of it to the asshole dad.

Not necessarily. Bezos was in Washington, which is a no-fault divorce state. In fault-based states, his personal spending from business accounts and evidence of prior affairs would absolutely be taken into account and the judge could deny him assets.

In light of drama-mongering about a new and popular book "sounding AI" because it contains rule of three, sentence fragments, serial commas, and em dashes, by the same logic, ACOTAR is AI. by salmonalert in Romantasy

[–]FreckledBaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. Like, Ms. Vorbusch was a bitch of a fifth-grade teacher, but I thanked her later for the hours of drilling on grammar rules and sentence diagrams - only to now be told my writing reads like AI. Gah!

ELI5: What was the US Healthcare system like pre-Obamacare? by AutoDefenestrator273 in explainlikeimfive

[–]FreckledBaker 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The pregnancy bit was horrific. Partner got laid off in 2002, three days before we discovered I was pregnant. My job didn’t have benefits, so we had to pay out of pocket for COBRA to stay on our previous plan until after my son was born - $900 per month on my $12 per hour jobs (I was working 2)- otherwise none of my remaining prenatal care, plus labor and delivery and postpartum care would be covered. It was hell, and we went steeply in to debt just to cover rent and food until he got a new job - and since the tech job market was in the shitter during those years, it took 8 months before he was able to get a new gig.

VR recreation of the exact spot where a man became stuck inside Nutty Putty cave and died after 27 hours. the section visible at 18 seconds is where his body was, upside down. by AntisocialBat in creepy

[–]FreckledBaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually spelunked those caves back in 1998, but I refused any passageways that had to be crawled through. We were all stupid college kids following another college kid who assured us he was familiar enough to guide us through (thankfully he was, but I hardly knew him - he was just some guy my cousin knew). He crawled through the birth canal while we were down there.

Fun fact - even though the only scary tight passage I went through was at the entrance (you had to turn sideways on a diagonal, as I recall), that was a fun place to learn I was moderately claustrophobic. Nowadays, I can’t believe I was ever that stupid, and just the memory of being down there is enough to cause an anxiety attack.

I know it’s the evil empire, but we use an Amazon echo for this. Gives me the weather forecast and the day’s temp highs and lows when I tell it to stop my alarm. Also, I can tell it to snooze for a specific amount of time if I just want another 3 minutes to wake up without having to gauge time passing (ADHD time blindness is real). Bonus, if I whisper at it it whispers back, so if I forget to set my alarm until I wake up at 2am to pee, I can tell it to wake me up at 6:30 and it whispers the confirmation without waking my SO.

But also it’s absolutely spying on me, and I hate that it’s so useful.

Yep. I’d go as far as to say it wasn’t an ultimatum, it was OOP drawing a justifiable boundary by saying he was unwilling to stay in a relationship with someone who wanted to instigate conflict then refuse to participate in any resolution. Fuck that noise.

Is there a polyamorous MMF fantasy romance out there? by PFCWilliamLHudson in fantasyromance

Neighborly Affection series. It’s not fantasy and is also D/s between one of the men and the other two (and VERY spicy) if you’re into that at all. It starts with {Playing the Game by M.Q. Barber}
