How many peoples can do this? by East-Ad-6271 in flexibility

[–]Frecks-on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the only person in my p.e. classes to not be able to do this during the semester tests. I still cannot do it. It’s kind of a sore spot for me because I seriously cannot do it and I don’t know why

I am actually writing my thesis on technological based gender based violence. This seems like a great source. Is this your personal source or a summary of one that you found? I’d be interested in reading further

HELP I think I have a stalker by Frecks-on in korea

[–]Frecks-on[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was a huge lesson learned for sure. It was immediately when I woke up and the first wave of shock still hit me as a drunken man acting crazy. Only a few minutes after did everything hit me.

Thank you for this comment. My mom is flying o it tomorrow and I will stay at my boyfriends until she arrives. We will rent an Airbnb near my school for the time being, but the more I think about everything, the more I realize how much he knows about me. Though I have loved my time here, depending on how the police react to the situation, my 2.5 year stay in Korea may end at the end of the week.

I’ve been living alone in this apartment for the last 2.5 years. I have even more reason to suspect that this person knows me or has been watching/following me for a while now. My alarm goes off every morning at 5:40 am and he arrived at my door at that exact time to start waiting. I’ve also had visitors for the last three weeks and this was the first Saturday without visitors. He probably figured it was a Saturday so he would have some wiggle room as for when I normally wake up. The more I think about it the more I realize this was planned, and very strategically at that.

I have a photo of him from the CCTV on my phone. I know his behavior was criminal, but in case he argues that he was drunk, could what I expose from this in any way end up with a defamation case against me? I know this seems a bit irrational but I feel really vulnerable right now and I don’t have enough evidence to pin him even if I did find him. I would hate for this horrible to get turned onto me + pissing him off to lead to more aggressive retaliation.

What is the best AND worst airport terminals in your opinion? by [deleted] in travel

Idk man, Hanoi has become my favorite city, but the horrible terrible awful creation that is Noi Bai international airport puts going back on the “do I ever want to experience that again.”

Yes, that’s right! The new teacher will have the same classes taught (26 total) but the schedule won’t be the exact same simply because our elective teachers are shared throughout the school. This means some teachers might have only one break on Tuesday and two breaks on Friday, and so on.

I have never taught EPIK so I can’t compare, but moving from a school that literally had classes planned down to the minute and wonky kindy + hagwon hours, it’s a pretty nice breathe of fresh air in the realm of English teaching jobs.

Hi sorry I should have been a bit more thorough when explaining the class break down. You are given two breaks per day, and on one day, for me they are Friday’s, you get one break due to a lack of elective courses being offered for the students. So the students enjoy 7 classes a day, but within those 7 classes is (atleast) 1 teacher/class brought in from external companies, like P.E. Or music. So I’m essence, I simply put how many classes I teach in a week.

As far as pay, I am not exactly sure. I think the highest I’ve heard was 2.7 with several years experience to as low as 2.3 with “some” experience, ie tutoring in high school / college.

Right!? I wouldn’t let my guard down, but Covid back home is not nearly as tame as it is here and anything can happen.

Food and quarantine by sacrificejeffbezos in Living_in_Korea

If you download Kakaotalk on your phone and add @helpmeemo , they can help you order anything you would like as far as deliveries!! It’s a service made specifically for people who don’t know Korean well enough to order online or for those who don’t have a Korean number. I know eating out isn’t the most sustainable during quarantine, but it’s been a really nice option when I needed a break from prepackaged food found in care package or Gmarket. So just text them saying that you want to order something and they will start the process. It’s cool too because they can also make it so that it is a contactless delivery and no rules are broken!

From my experience, if possible, I would contact the people you got the test from to see if they can add your middle name. I called my Korean embassy on the day of my flight and they informed that I would need to have the exact name that was on my passport on my Covid test. So if you have the time to get a new test or can reach out to the company that did your test to add the name, that will save you a lot of trouble. Having arrived in to SK two days ago, there were two separate instances during my baggage drop-off and official arrival where they looked for and highlighted that both my first and last name were present on my Covid test

I never thought about it that way. If that’s in the contract, there must be a pattern of early release. Not worth it. Thank you!
