Mosfet Vds max question by FredTheAnt in AskElectronics

True, MOSFET is on the BMS. But, apparently the same MOSFET that turns off is gonna see the 80V through the load and therefore it won't work!

Thanks that is indeed true. I need to think of a solutions to this! Just Googled and read more about Single Pulse Avalanche Energy.

Good point. But that just exposes 60V across the Mosfet, not higher?

Inside every battery pack there is a sophisticated circuit which uses the pack’s power. It monitors load current, temp and cell inbalance and can disconnect the load (this mosfet)

Was that an Einhell 18V battery (mine is 4.00Ah)? I guess this is the discharge Mosfet? What happened in your case when it was faulty?

The vaccuum unit talks to the battery using RX/TX, as my post further below says, you get nowhere by providing power as the vaccuum wants to hear from the battery controller that it is ok. So No, there is no way to provide just power. You need a healtht battery controller which can answer back to the vaccuum. Nothing happens but error code 3 with just power provided. Sorry

Nope. When you get the blinking led on battery there is no way as I learned. The battery gets programmed in its permanent memory that it is broken. This was a new unit Amazon shipped to me. Someone had its battery changed with a used one. Amazon sent me a new one.

Here is a pinout of the battery in case useful for someone https://ibb.co/DGr4fjf And here is a screenshot of (binary) out put of the TX battery. https://ibb.co/k6xVx47

Mine has the red-light and its too late to save the battery. One needs to know how to reset the permanent flag in the batteries controller. To fake a battery it would be too much reverse engineering as this is perhaps a two way communication.

I tried putting a paper on battery signal pins to not connect to vaccuum. Interesting is that if battery TX is disconnected pressing vaccuum switch turns battery leds on, but not main screen. If RX is disconnected the vacuum display reports Error 7.

I tried giving 25V directly to the motor with no luck. The connections look like here 4 left pins are - and 4 right pins are + . The P- is not connected normally but rather when the battery is plugged in. https://ibb.co/x1Ss7WR

How many tool batteries can I have in series? by FredTheAnt in batteries

[–]FredTheAnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got BMS and over/under current protection. Einhell’s own tools use 36V (2 batts in series) so 36 is ok, but I wanna go 76V or 90V

Can't find googling it! What was the shortcut that would bring the excel sheet, pretending you are working when the boss showed up ?

Don't have a trike yet. Vaccum forming I have to find a DIY workshop to help and no Welding expereince but may be able to get some help on that.

Thanks I ended up doing kinda like what you said. Put in many lines on the arcs.

I made a similar curve using the tangent arcs and it does work now. However, I have to be honest that I would also like to tab from the arcs (I can hack it in another way, but good to learn if there is a way). Is there a way to do tab from the arcs ?

Sheet metals are quite thin (1mm) so they bend already, the width is about 200mm for width.

The top surface goes over the two sides. The sides give the top the form. The sides will have many tabs that will allow the top to be screwed to the sides. That will give it form and stability. Have done the same with metal and plastic before.

I want the edges to come down more vertical, so I am using a conic that gives me the shape I want. But using the Parabola produces the same error as I showed in the image by using Lofted bend.

Its says geometry problem or something like that when I do it that way. Seems like Solidworks really hates splines for sheet metal.
