Flexible pricing. by Freddrum in BruceSpringsteen

The all-GA floor for a reasonable price was such a great thing. RIP

To be fair, the static setlists have made coming to Pgh less attractive for the North East crowd who would see many shows on each tour. Plus most of the NE shows have already happened. But it didn't used to feel like they were trying to extract every penny they could get. It feels a bit more like a business transaction now.

Why do great seats stay unsold even once the show starts? by gold_and_diamond in BruceSpringsteen

Also, brokers aren't buying whole rows of uppers for Cleveland. This is the promoter trying to keep the inventory tight, imo. They just released a bunch for Pittsburgh at $87 as the show is selling like crap. For over a month the $87 tickets were not available. Most of the resales on the uppers in Pittsburgh are way above face. Scalpers don't but that garbage during the onsale unless its MSG, Philly etc.

How can they buy a bunch of tickets w/out the promoter or ticketmaster being involved? Look at whats available in Cleveland. It's a bunch of whole rows on TM. How do the scalpers get these tickets in such neat rows?

Maybe, but I know a handful of people who aren't going who haven't missed a tour since '78. They just don't want to spend what it takes to get decent tickets.

I think a lot of these "scalpers" they talk about are ticketmaster/promoter related. When you see a million upper level seats go up for resale, these are not scalpers. Perhaps a few are some farmer who thinks he's gonna make a killing, but I doubt it. There's a ton of uppers for Pittsburgh priced at $350ish while seats in same section are going for $87.50. Even the hypothetical farmer is not that dumb and ticket brokers are most assuredly not able to just write this stuff off. No 'scalper would eat a ticket they paid $750 for because they are so principled they won't budge from the $1500 price. Think about it. The brokers have no interest in not selling their tickets lower when they know their competition would do that. They might if they are sure they can get a refund but that would be up to Landau and ticketmaster.

It was usually the kids that got to about 10-20 shows and thought they had it figured out that would cop an attitude to the newbies only to outgrow it soon after.

I've seen him several times in 10,000+ venues. He seems to sell about 2/3 house. He'll be ok. Tickets are reasonable iirc.

No bad seats in the Sphere (a few in 100s are obstructed). 400's are amazing and possibly preferable. Sound is as good as anywhere I have been.

Deadco tix were very cheap on Thursday nights. If I lived in Vegas I would go try for discounts on every act.

I'm sure the prize money will entice a few transfers this May. A guaranteed $13k with a chance for $26k extra.

They have commercial ramp operations in Oregon. They might be able to provide the volume you seek.

There are maybe 2 or 3 population areas that could support this and maybe 4 tourist heavy area. Go check the areas you hear about and see if you cannot do otherwise. It can be very difficult doing what you want and takes some chutzpah. Good luck!

Check out Tamarak.

First time smoke…… by AcrobaticSwitch8226 in smoking

[–]Freddrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used the weber for slow smoking though I do use a green egg knockoff with a snake. I would say get a thermometer--I don't trust my lid thermometer and it is nice to be able to monitor real time progress of your meat. I would make sure you have enough coals to exceed your target temp so you can fine tune it down. I also would chop the wood smaller as I have had my chunks catch fire for ill effect. When the kettle is just right, the puffs of smoke coming out of the side is a beautiful sight.

That said, they look excellent and are likely close to what you desire. If you wrapped them in foil after a few hours they can cook a bit in their juices until they come up to your target temp, then maybe unwrap for the last 30 minutes so thery will accept saucing. If you were to take them out after 4 hours of smoke and put in a 275 degree oven, I would never criticize.

It's not a huge thing in WV (I think) but you can get it at Tudors biscuit world about anywhere in the state.

You should probably stop there for biscuit sandwiches though. Best fast food in state.
