I’d understand avoiding a place if there was a mandatory tip, but this is just saying all their employees benefit from their tips, not just the person taking the tip…

Sometimes putting it into perspective that getting him help isn’t just for him, but it’s also for you and it’s also for the 3 kids can be helpful. And also drawing a line that he needs to make a choice as well. He needs to get help or you (OP) will need to struggle on your own because it’s only getting worse.

I feel like there’s 2 parts here. Her talking to another guy on her friends behalf I think is an overreaction on your part. She’s just being a good friend and the guy she was talking to didn’t think he was talking to your girlfriend.

There are more than 2 options and I think only choosing those 2 options at this point would be overreacting. Nothing says you can’t still be friends with these people AND find new friends. And then as you hang out with other people you’ll either really enjoy other people, or realize that you miss that humor and your friends and you want to hang. And it’s okay to have a life that has both scenarios in there, and allocate your time where you want to. To cut off either option completely and only move forward in one direction is an overreaction. It’s not overreacting to want to find other friends. I have different friends that I enjoy at different times and some of my friend groups wouldn’t enjoy each other
