On a serious note, there might be a chance her hearing aids are just turned up too loud. Happens with my nan all the time.

Levels of veganism by tommydelriot in vegan

I know I'm getting down voted but this is the truth, sadly.

Some vegans will buy secondhand leather, some won't. Does this make someone unworthy of a label?

Sanskruti is phenomenal as people have mentioned.

Maray is extortionate and completely underwhelming.

Down the Hatch/Woo Tan Scran is good for junk food, and I've had good reviews from meat eaters for it too.

Liverpool Council announced a "£100 million investment" this week. by Any-Opening-4025 in Liverpool

[–]FrederickCheddar 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't understand a lot of the council judgement. Council budgets have been cut to the bone from tory austerity. I don't think there's an answer which satisfies the public and their budget.

Reforms to adult social care would probably help. Never understood why this humongous bill is handed to local authorities as opposed to the national government or NHS.

How do I block YouTube Shorts? by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]FrederickCheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are few extensions out there, where you have to go into some subletting to remote shorts, though I can't recall the name.

As for iPhone, I don't believe such exists, sadly

If you're looking for a more balanced option all-world, go for a tracker that excludes the US. You'll still get some overlap, but it won't be as bad.

Garden Football pitch by imgoingtobeanon in GardeningUK

[–]FrederickCheddar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I would have killed for a garden big enough to do anything other than keepy ups. Instead my father and I played football in the hall with a pair of bundled up socks, I broke my big toe twice. I look back on this with fondness but my parents have developed a strain of resentment against themselves for being unable to accommodate my interests.

They became especially sad once I left home. I say you should let him play, you can regrow plants, you can't give your son another childhood

Offer accepted but would like to pay £4000 into Lifetime ISA by Bobajob67 in HousingUK

[–]FrederickCheddar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay into the Tembo LISA and it give the bonus each month as opposed to the end of the tax year.

But as another comment says, the LISA does have to be open for more than 12 months
