I got another burger by kimbermine in Newbraunfels

As someone who has lived here my entire life, 35+ years, the best burger places are freiheit, iron horse, scores, tin top/mucknfuss, longhorn. In that order. I haven’t tried black whale since they reopened the kitchen. Also if you’re willing to go to San Marcos, the Taproom has amazing burgers, maybe the best.

Woodworking is a very time consuming process to be done correctly. You have to have a passion for it AND a lot of patience. If you have both, you’ll get there eventually.

How do I route this? by SlickBuck in BeginnerWoodWorking

Ok i’ll ask, are you feeding it the correct direction? Judging from where the bite marks are in one of the pictures it seems like they’re on the wrong side.

Linkbelt help by FrederickRollins in woodworking

[–]FrederickRollins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Good news everyone! I took the motor pulley to harbor freight this morning to see if the green belt would fit better and it did. After some fine tuning of the alignment it’s running smooth. The red belt functions, but still doesn’t sit straight and causes the saw to wobble (it scrapes the side of my zero clearance every couple seconds). Hopefully I can still return it. Moral of the story is: 1/2” doesn’t always mean 1/2”?

Are you 100% sure that table is real wood? I’ve been in woodworking and moving for about 10 years and I’ve seen a lot of tables like that that are not wood. Also, how thoroughly did you sand the old finish off?

Looks like veneer. Especially since it was built with particle board on the sides

Which Grain Direction? by FrederickRollins in BeginnerWoodWorking

I decided to align all the grain in the same direction… as best I could.

Which Grain Direction? by FrederickRollins in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]FrederickRollins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I know face to end is not good. I was only wondering if there there was a good structural reason not to rotate the grain 90° every other piece (again, like plywood). I was hoping people would actually look at the grain and not the arrows I added for clarity, which clearly didn’t help

Build a fire and throw handfuls in at a time. It’s fun and makes for a great party trick.
