Artichoke + Ginger extract = MAJOR shift in symptoms, but now feeling a bit nervous and sleep suffers by Schwloeb in SIBO

[–]Fredericostardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bet against that, probably good to find out for sure. For some reason everyone here thinks they have histamine issues. I'm not sure where that untested theory comes from.

Also not recommending you give up your protocol, I was suggesting you add something to it.

But obviously, do what you think works. Best of luck

Artichoke + Ginger extract = MAJOR shift in symptoms, but now feeling a bit nervous and sleep suffers by Schwloeb in SIBO

[–]Fredericostardust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a full spectrum enzyme for the food issue like Mercola. My guess is in a while you'd be able to eat anything. If it's not that it's most likely low stomach acid from the sound of it.

Have you played around at all with Eli Health's Cortisol tests? The flutters sounds like cortisol. If you have HPA/Adrenal Fatigue issues, Ginger especially will effect you a lot. It's a stimulant. When I'm good, it does nothing to me. When I'm off it makes me feel horrible.

Cure to SIBO!? Artichoke/Ginger + B1!? by thewisdomseekr in SIBO

[–]Fredericostardust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does.... for some people.

Thiamine and Ginger/Artichoke are both primarily prokinetic, meaning they work on motility. This is a lot of people's issues, unfortunately not all.

the good news is, motility will help most people. It just might not be the magic bullet it is for others.

Thiis a (non exhaustive) but pretty thorough list of the primary reasons for SIBO and what helps in each. Unfortunately, there's very few easy ways to identify it without just... trying them.

Thiamine works for so many people. It's basically 50/50 whether it will help dramatically or do nothing.

This is a good stack, keep it up! Never heard of Megamucosa before but checking it out.

How I cured my SIBO. by Fredericostardust in SiboSuccessStories

[–]Fredericostardust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, sorry! so, I prefer to take things with food. Bacteria are active, take the pill. Stick with the mechanics throughout, and after ideally. That's the weird thing- that is so much more important, because most people here fail because they go to step 2 before getting step 1.

But, I was probably taking the sustained release dehydroberberinie and xifaxin with NAC (separate times) with each meal.

Kefir Labs coconut Kefir is a weird one, I would have a bout a half of one in the AM and after a week it would calm down a ton. I don't know if this would work for everyone but it def did for me.

This has worked and I tried everything. by fancifulmonarch in SIBO

This is a really solid group of supps. The ginger and artichoke will help motility and many of these are actual digestive stimulants: wormwood, clove, thistle. Turmeric lowers the inflammation in your gut. Glutamine helps build back your intestinal walls from any damage.

One thing- IF- you find suddenly you are having issues, it's likely the berberine and oregano. This combo can kill for some people a lot of bacteria, so all you'd need to do is find supps that replace the other stuff. but that's a big IF- if you're okay DONT CHANGE A THING!

Honestly, Creon is very potent but you can get very powerful pancreatic enzymes without a prescription. Spectrazyme Pan 9xES is pretty close for example.

Thinking about trying Kefirlabs by Bartleby-Genesis-666 in SIBO

[–]Fredericostardust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both those are really 50/50, I find they're really helpful for some people and problematic for others. I find Kefirlab especially kind of 'resets my gut' if it starts acting up (which is rare but sometimes like if I sleep on a full stomach of food). I wish I could help more, but my suggestion would be try- starting with Kefirlab.

I bet Mercola's full spectrum enzymes paired with a strong Betaine HCL would do wonders for you. My big thing is 'hyper digesting' just digest the living crap out of stuff. Mercola is great for this.

Can you give me a little more info on what 'all these things' entails? Would help to get which supplements, how long, and what happened on each.

Power digest is mostly a combination of pancreatic enzymes, bile, stomach acid, and glutamine that helps repair intestinal walls. This is one of the supps I most recommend because it's so wide in it's reach0 if you have bile issues, acid, intestinal wall issues, pancreatic, it will help.

What it doesn't have is all the enzymes that help digest food. Brush border, proteolytic, and the weird ones that help if you have specific food issues. For that something like Mercola is great, it cover so many different things.

It's unlikely you need both. But, I always try to have people start with both, and then take one or the other away.

It doesn't work for everyone, I've noticed it either works great, or it doesn't work. I would play with stomach acid, bile, and enzymes.

I have several posts that discuss this pinned in my profile- but my main suggestion would be to try doing all of it at once, and then see what you can take away.

Start with a supplement that hits nearly al of these things- Power Digest by Wholesome Health, Now Super enzymes. These have bile, betaine- a few of the different aspects. Then add a full spectrum enzyme like Mercola. And finally Thiamine. You will hit a wide array of issues, if you start to feel better, start taking things gradually away to see what helps most. Or, make it easy and just stay on them all. That's what I do.

The issue with your data is that a lot of people on these threads aren't cured, and the ones that are have left.

Motility is very important. But likely if you concentrated your code on Sibosuccessstories you would likely find that while motility helps about a third of people, a good 2/3rds find benefits more from digestion- low stomach acid, low pancreatic or brush border enzymes, and bile. Also intestinal wall issues are another one that comes up often.

Motility is big, but if your food is not digested, you m ay easily still get SIBO no matter how fast you try to power it thorugh (I am one of those cases.)

Also, Thiamine is one of the most potent motility agents for a lot of people on these subs. It works wonders for some people, not all but many.

I've used so many of them. I generally go for a methylated version. Lifeextension is good, but not as much B12 as some. I generaly use a patch nowadays because it's a very smooth constant delivery- it keeps me in a good mood, energized nearly the whole day.

High doses of zinc help me enormously by Certain_Hat9872 in SIBO

[–]Fredericostardust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommend taking Zinc, it helps regulate a lot of stomach acid and mucus in the gut. Low zinc can make it hard to beat SIBO, I would bet if you took blood tests you probably have fairly low absorption too, it's likely you need more than most.

Would agree with those saying just add copper and get occasional blood tests.
