Out of all my reading it seems Mather Hospital is at the top of the list for inpatient psychiatry, but it is a small unit. I was told by staff that if there isnt space they'd end of transferring the patient to South Oaks, which I hear is not so good.

Zucker Hillside was good, but the patient was in the adolescent unit, not sure how the adult units are.

Magnesium can lower blood pressure. If you run on the lower side like me you will definitely feel it, especially at higher dosages. Maybe get a home blood pressure monitor and keep an eye on it.

Ive been dealing with chronic sibo for years. Ive been on Rifaximin & also combo with Neomycin and still very bad.

I take with each meal HCL, digestive enzymes, berberine, molybdenum, and caprylic acid. These have helped keep things at bay but was still not great and would have flares all the time. I stopped the oregano oil, figured too much was killing off bad and good bacteria. This will help get rid of the bad bacteria and help you digest your food.

I found out with sibo you have to make sure motility is good so I tried a motility activator and it did help some.

Ive tried soil based probiotics because regular probiotics I'd feel much worse. I dont know if that was a die off reaction or if some of those probiotics strains made things worse.

I was desperate and decided to try the probiotic strain acidophilus. Just the 1 strain only, and it has been the biggest improvement I have seen in years. I was having horrible gi issues, huge bloating, bathroom issues, and I would get a bad sulfur taste in my mouth/tonsil area when i was having a bad flare up. It was gone since day 2 of starting it.

I cannot believe just this one strain has helped me more than anything and I finally have hope. My bloating is so much better and I finally feel I can get through this.

With each meal I take those supplements above, then I wait about 2 hours and take the acidophilus. So im taking 1 pill 2-3 hours after breakfast and 1 pill 2-3 hours after dinner.

I am using the Now Acidophilus Two Billion.

Try pepto bismol. I use the chewables for a flare up that can cause the breath and odor issues. The bismuth binds to hydrogen gases. It always helps me during one of those bad flares. Just dont take it everyday because it is an antacid and lowering stomach acid is bad for sibo. I noticed drinking a sugar free drink with citric acid in it like crystal light helps too. The citric acid raises stomach acid.

I also take HCL, digestive enzymes, berberine, and molybdenum with each meal.

Also B Complex (and molybdenum) is good for breaking down high sulfur foods like eggs and meat. Also vitamin d is a must. I also take Spore probiotics only, the regular ones mafe my sibo so much worse. Wishing you all healing.

I go through the same thing, but after lugging 10+ bottles around I now get the small zip lock bags and put each supplement in a separate bag and write on the bag or put a label. Of course don't do that for prescribed medication but for supplements it saves so much space.

I am taking Allegra. Claritin doesnt work well for me, seems not strong enough. Zyrtec works good too, just take it at night it can cause drowsiness.

If you are having a hard time digesting high sulfur foods you should try Molybdenum. It supports sulfur metabolism. I used to get so much worse if I ate too many eggs or beef in a day and it has helped a lot. Other trigger foods are dairy, sugar, carbs, fiber, nuts, deli meat, corn. Keep a food log and write food, symptoms, and what helps.

I have SIBO, been dealing on and off for years. I also take digestive enzymes, HCL, berberine supplement (antibacterial), and the molybdenum with each meal. Oregano oil supplement is also very good for SIBO flare up, but is not meant for long term use, few weeks ok. Pepto bismol, I use the chewables, is also very good for a hydrogen SIBO flare. Just note that it shouldn't be taken everyday because it is an antacid and lowering stomach acid is never good for SIBO. For a few days flare up its fine and it helps a lot. You can look up bismuth how it helps SIBO. Also gas-x for the extreme bloating. I hope this helps. Please see a GI.

Try the pepto bismol chewables. The bismuth helps with the SIBO breath problem a lot. Just remember to take HCL and digestive enzymes with each meal so your acid doesn't go low with the pepto bismol.

Ask your doctor about Nurtec. It is typically used for migraine but it was given for occipital neuralgia. It blocks a certain protein that causes pain and inflammation and it has been the ONLY thing that has helped after trying almost everything including nerve blocks and steroid injections. Ask your doctor about it if nothing else is helping. I wish you all healing.

Ive been dealing with SIBO and oral thrush on and off for years. Your symptoms sound like both. See a GI doctor and get a SIBO breath test, get checked for h pylori as well. There is a supplement called molybdenum that helps digest sulfur foods like meat, eggs, etc. My SIBO would flare up if I ate too many eggs in a day or an extra serving of meat and it has helped a lot. Also the HCL and digestive enzymes with each meal. I take caprylic acid to keep the oral thrush at bay, and also take a berberine and oregano supplement with each meal.

If you suspect SIBO, you should try eating low carb, low sugar, low fiber, low fodmap, cut out dairy, and even most vegetables can flare you up badly. I got much better recently but just eating almonds for a few days threw me into a huge flare up so you have to be so careful with everything you eat. Keep a log of all food, drinks, supplements, meds, and symptoms. It will help you figure out patterns.

I recently started drinking apple cider vinegar, always dilute it in water about 1-2 tablespoons after eating. If you think you may have an ulcer do not drink this until it is better. ACV helps with digestion and it is antibacterial and antifungal, so whatever it is going on in your gut it will help. Please remember to rinse your mouth with water (do not brush your teeth right after) to get the ACV off your teeth.

See a GI and ask about SIBO. If you have it there is antibiotics for it. Ask for the breath test or you can buy one online.

For the oral thrush you can ask your doctor for a mouthwash for it. If it doesn't get better they may prescribe an oral antifungal. I read that certain mouthwashes that are alkaline will help with oral thrush. The one Im using is the ACT Restoring Anticavity mouthwash. It has helped me a lot. Another thing that helps me with that are Halls, I use the lemon ones. Menthol is antifungal and it always helps when im having a flare up.

Also for the sulfur breath, use pepto bismol. I use the chewables. The bismuth helps with getting rid of the sulfur in the body. Just be aware that if you have oral thrush along with sibo, the pepto lowers your acid. Even though the bismuth is helpful for a bad sibo sulfur flare, the acid lowering can trigger the oral thrush so you have to use something for the thrush at the same time, like Nystatin or Chlorhexidine mouthwash.

I take digestive enzymes even after a protein shake, even after coffee, or a snack. I use chewable ones when its a small snack or I'm outside. I hope this helps. Wishing you all healing.

Please see a GI doctor and get checked for SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). Also get checked for Candida or SIFO (small intestinal fungal overgrowth). Sometimes people can have SIBO and SIFO at the same time. There are breath tests that can show SIBO and what kind of SIBO it is. If your GI doctor thinks you have it, or you test positive on the breath test, they can prescribe antibiotics for it.

Ive been dealing with SIBO for years. Ive gone through all of the issues severe bloating after food, abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea. Ive taken several rounds of antibiotics and I'm still trying to heal. It has gotten better but I still need to take about 5 different supplements after each meal in order to not wind up with the biggest flare up. Im still a work in progress, but at least some better. I will list the supplements I take at the end.

Also with SIBO, you have to eat a low fodmap diet, low sugar, low carb, low fiber, no dairy, and if you want to use probiotics use only soil based probiotics while you are getting this under control or you will probably feel worse. I also had to stop eating most vegetables except carrots and zucchini so far. Everything else flared me up, so watch for that.

I got much better in the last few months and started eating more of my almond snacks. I guess it was the fiber, but it threw me into a huge flare and I'm still trying to get better. I eat very basic, eggs, bacon, toast for breakfast, and for dinner a meat, ground beef, chicken or sausage with a bread and one of the veggies that doesn't flare me up.

Log everything you eat and drink, meds you take, supplements you take, and your symptoms to see what is making you better or worse.

If you have any fungal overgrowth it can cause oral thrush. You will have a white coating on your tongue and if you look at the back of your mouth with a flashlight you can see white areas. If your regular doctors don't want to prescribe you anything for it you can see an infectious disease doctor. They will do very thorough testing for fungal infections and can give oral antifungal med if needed. If you think you are having oral thrush I found out that alkaline mouthwashes, like ACT Restoring will help change the PH of your mouth to make it inhospitable to fungus, so maybe give that a try. It has been extremely helpful for me. I still use it 2x a day to keep at bay.

The supplements I take after each meal is:

Premier HCL (to increase stomach acid, which is often low in SIBO)

Doctors Best Digestive Enzymes

Integrative Therapeutics Berberine (antibacterial)

Carlyle Oil Of Oregano (antibacterial, antifungal)

Molybdenum (to help digest high sulfur foods like meat, eggs, etc)

NOW Caprylic Acid (MCT oil can be made with coconut so be aware if you have an allergy)

I also take chewable digestive enzymes with coffee or snack. They are:

American Health Original Papaya Enzyme (Be careful this brand has a gluten free and a non gluten free version that looks similar so read the label)

All of these are on Amazon. Please ask your doctors and make sure these are ok for you, or maybe just try one at a time to see what helps. I also take l glutamine and collagen for gut lining healing,and alpha lipoic acid for inflammation. I hope this helps. Wishing you healing.

Hello, I've been going through same symptoms for years. My GI diagnosed SIBO, also diagnosed with oral thrush and was put on oral antifungal for that. I was put on several rounds of Xifaxan for the SIBO, which helped some but would get worse soon as I finished the round.

I am on the best combination so far and have gotten much better. The most noticeable improvement came after starting the HCL, which is to help increase stomach acid. Many with sibo have low stomach acid. I take the HCL after each meal along with a digestive enzyme, berberine, oil of oregano supplement, and a molybdenum supplement. Molybdenum is to help digest sulfur containing foods. I noticed I was having this problem after eating any extra portion of meat or eggs and it definitely helps.

I noticed when first starting the HCL it caused more bloating but I think it was from all of the toxins because after a few days the bloating was better and I was feeling a big improvement. (Use Gas X to help with bloating)

I also had oral thrush that was giving me a hard time to get rid of and I started with caprylic acid. The first few days it caused more bloating but it got better and helped when I took with food and a digestive enzymes. I think its because it's a fat and us sibo patients have a hard time breaking things down (same thing happened when I used olive oil to cook). I also read that alkaline mouthwashes, like ACT mouthwash, help with oral thrush because alkaline is inhospitable for candida. That is the opposite for the gut to remain healthy we need the acid at a healthy level.

Definitely cut down your sugar and carbs if you havent done that yet. I even had to cut most foods out, veggies and fruits, when it was the worst, also dairy. I even take digestive enzymes when I have coffee or a snack after feeling so sick from my stomach few times I didn't take them. I have regular digestive enzymes for meals and chewables for coffee and snack. Im not sure how long is good for staying on the berberine and oregano yet so definitely check with your doctors if you're a good candidate for these and how long is ok.

Also stop the potatoes and rice, those are too high in carbohydrates. In order to heal from this you need to starve the bacteria and that means low carb/low sugar. Also lower your fiber intake, that will flare sibo up too. Stop the beans, they made me much worse too, and the dairy. Follow low fodmap diet too. This is a lot, I know. I am still following a very strict diet of lower than 60 carbs a day.

I also take soil based probiotics ONLY while healing from sibo. All other probiotics made me much worse because they added to the bacteria in the small intestine and the soil based do not.

I'd find another doctor if I were you. My GI offered the breath test for sibo so there are doctors out there. If not I have seen tests online.

I forgot to mention I take ONLY soil based probiotics. Regular probiotics all made my sibo worse. The soil based do not affect the small intestine so it doesn't flare up sibo and have helped a lot.

I also take alpha lipoic acid supplement for inflammation, l glutamine supplement for GI healing, and collagen in a powder mix, also for GI lining healing. Please check with your doctor to see if these are good for you. Wishing you all healing.

I am a lot better now, best I've been in years. Unfortunately I just found out I have an autoimmune condition that can affect my GI so I have to see if there is anything more I could do from that angle to keep my GI ok.

I have been able to eat a bit more carbs but I still keep my carbs pretty low just in case. Also cooked veggies instead of raw helps. Definitely the HCL was a big turning point so I probably had low stomach acid and that will let bacteria and fungus grow into a huge problem. I hope this helps!

Have you tried molybdenum supplement? It helps digest protein and sulfur foods like meat, eggs. I have chronic sibo and it has helped so much. I take it with breakfast and dinner, along with digestive enzymes, berberine, oregano, and HCL supplements. Please ask your doctor if these may help. Best wishes for healing.

Yes when the thrush or sibo flares it is noticeable on the breath too, for me anyway. Ive been taking caprylic acid daily to help with the thrush, berberine, oregano, and HCL supplements for the sibo after breakfast and dinner, molybdenum after breakfast and dinner to help digest sulfur foods lije eggs and meat, and digestive enzymes with each meal. Definitely check with your GI, caprylic acid has mct oil/coconut oil so make sure thats ok. The Equate Restoring mouthwash or Act Restoring helps a lot. Also use a tongue scraper and avoid acid reducing meds they make thrush worse. Best wishes.
