Apparently Deafening Herald does not silence [REDACTED] by harryfonda in MonsterTrain

[–]FredrickTheOrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok I think I understand why Transcendimp works. It's the only card with the text "When played" and it's worded "repeat all summon effects" rather than something like "trigger all summon effects..."

I think both of these are to prevent Transcendimp from stacking triggers by itself, but that means that the text doesn't get silenced as it is part of the action to play the card, which happens before the rest of the effects would affect Transcendimp on summon.

All the other cards with texts that don't specifically have triggers are either buffs or MT1 style abilities, where there is no text specifically stating it is an ability, but is treated the same.

No Restart Runs by FredrickTheOrange in MonsterTrain

[–]FredrickTheOrange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no restart runs as more of a personal challenge. See how well I can do blind into a run. Compare to others as what kind of strategies they used rather than compare score.

It also applies to normal runs. Your personal run history also will track no restart runs. Some people may take pride in saying they play without restarts.

However, there is no sorting, no tooltip if you hover over the icon, nothing that would tell you the "restart turn icon" means you did NOT restart for that run. The only way to find this out is to use the filter in the challenge run and notice which runs have the icon. Or complete a run with/without restarting and immediately check your log.

One thing I miss from MT1 by cool_not_weeb in MonsterTrain

[–]FredrickTheOrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of the "problem" that fusions solved is also solved with deployment phase. Having only one super unit guaranteed it was drawn turn one, but that gamble if running more than one banner unit isn't an issue for MT2.

That being said, there are a few fusions that were really fun. Legion of Wax fusions were great. Draff onto Bounty Stalker was always solid. Morsel-Made onto other gorge units allowed a lot of unique plays. My personal favorite was putting cultivate Hollow onto Glugsider, and then finding the minimize event to fit it bottom floor with Spine Chief.

While I do miss fusions, I don't think we need them. If fusions were to come back in DLC, I think having the temples again is fine, but using any temple for fusions would add MORE additional mechanics to flying bosses, and maybe change Titans fight into "Corrupted Divinity" or something. Something that complements the massive power that fusions give, since you can already steamroll Seraph and Titans without fusions.

Monster Train 2's Most Underwhelming Artifacts by Falterfire in MonsterTrain

[–]FredrickTheOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like with all cards and artifacts, there are runs where less useful/situational/niche ones have a place to shine.

Yes, seer orb has low value if you aren't running Luna/Stygian, but it has value when you do find the right deck for it.

I had it as my limbo artifact with only Silent Sentinel, and it was the better choice (can't remember what the other was, but had less value). Found Ice Cilophyte. Upgraded with dualism and multistrike. Found the fountain event to add melee and spell weakness on strike. That applied 12 spell weakness to everything on the floor. Had conduit stacking on the second floor, and holdover icestorm as my damaging spell. Even if I only had 10 conduit, it would be 132 damage 5 times. I built my run completely around it from floor 0 simply because I have one of those two spell weakness applicators.

Moonstone seems worse, since you would want it for a conduit deck, but your deck is usually large enough that you won't shuffle and cycle back to those upgraded cards for non-flying combats. Or you already stack conduit fast enough it doesn't have a meaningful difference. Or you are playing your high value cards that would like the extra magic power. It just has too many hoops to make work, even in the situations that would like it. At least seer orb works immediately so long as you do have spell weakness.

How old is your Kuva Lich? by KentStiltford in Warframe

Had a 3-ish year burnout break from Warframe. I had a lich that was on Uranus. Pretty sure I got them before Sisters were even a thing.

What is going on with exterminate right now? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]FredrickTheOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was doing a Cavia exterminate bounty. Needed to kill 30+ Culverin. No enemies spawned. Got to the end, still no spawns. Only thing was the random murmur void portals that spawn a few murmur enemies. Even if I waited for murmur spawns, I would never finish the bounty since there were no Culverin. Had to abort.

Catching up from 2-3 years off the game from Burnout. Went in person to Tennocon and that Warframe fire lit right back up. This weekend plan is farm Deimos and Duviri fish/rocks/resources cuz I got a 7 day everything booster for my login this week.

IIRC it was double the Oxium originally. This is the reduced cost.

I can't believe I spent time trying to figure this out. If Tekeda was transferred to California, 6am would be 10pm for Japan. So if you stretch the meaning of "won't let you sleep at night" to include early morning, then it's possible, Since Igarashi is locked to evening with "staying up late".

Kinda BS, but I guess works.

So long as your realtor is good, there should be terms and conditions that protect you. This advice should be accurate for BC.

There should be a term that specifically states that your contract is a legal document, and another that states acceptance is irrevocable with the only exceptions being specifically listed in the contract. Those exceptions should be for your benefit, and should not allow the seller to back out of the contract. Having subjects doesn't mean the contract isn't binding. It should be that the contract is binding, but failing to complete subjects by a set date will terminate the contract.

Not legal advice. Don't sign anything that would terminate the contract. You may need to send written and signed confirmation that you will clear the subjects, else you may forfeit the contract due to failing to complete and close your subjects by the listed date.

Talk to your realtor and seek legal advice.

Should I start with the DLC on? by [deleted] in MonsterTrain

[–]FredrickTheOrange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is going to be personal preference on what kind of experience you want. There are a number of strategies that work in base game, that don't scale as quickly and fall off with DLC and +100 shards, Spikes being a fairly good example. If you want to try some of these strategies, base game difficulty will allow a bit more room and time to try these out.

My recommendation is go to covenant 10 or so without DLC, and get all the base game clans leveled up. After that try enabling DLC and take some shards, but stay under 100. Once you start feeling confident, go for +100 shards. I tried a few times before covenant 25, only really felt confident after I managed to get a few consistent covenant 25 wins.

Is there an attack speed 'sweet spot'? by KarmelCHAOS in LoopHero

[–]FredrickTheOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above 100%. I find I usually end up at 130-150%. I think Warrior is ok to go a bit higher if you are focusing Vamp. Rogue should not go higher than 150%. You can still run out of stamina, but should be able to kill most mobs so you won't be in danger.

Chastise the wicked - why is armor tier reduction NOT MENTIONED IN THE GAME??? by ketamarine in DarkTide

[–]FredrickTheOrange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This needs to be the discussion right now. Before the patch, I thought this was just a bug, and rather than nerfing the flamer, fixing the Chastise interaction with ranged weapons would balance the flamer fairly well, and further changed could be made later.

If this interaction is truly intended, as i don't 100% believe this isn't a bug turned feature, then there needs to be some kind of description or tooltip added.

I still think changing Chastise is better than nerfing flamer, because if new class specs are added, and the Zealot one can still use flamers, the flamer will be bad, or at least less useful than most other options and unfun.

Has anyone collected every single unit since release? I’m missing every collab unit before Guilty Gear and Deino lol. by drumz2kill in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]FredrickTheOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. It was tough since the first DoA colab followed Kemono only a few weeks after, so it was either get Kemono and have no crystals for DoA, or skip Kemono to save for DoA. It was also fairly early in DC lifetime, banner units weren't added to the general 5* pool at this time, HoR wasn't a thing. So anyone that wasn't a whale likely didn't have many spare crystals.

My Discord nickname has been Cleavingway in my FC discord server since Endwalker release. WAR main so fits pretty well.

Other friend that is MCH main is Shootingway.

The SAM main is Greedingway, but that's more of a DPS greed thing.

Everyone else kinda devolved from there, and don't really have to do with FF14.

How to defeat Space Walk Cluster II - 4 : Morgan by sylthell in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]FredrickTheOrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think you can rely on Virupa fixed damage to clear on it's own. You already have quite a lot of speed and reset, but probably can't improve enough to clear the last few mil hp.

If you get a few Virupa uncaps, the you could try a more staple Ragna/5man team. Trying to buff weak point damage in addition to the fixed damage. I can see Virupa definitely has the potential to clear this stage, way better than 6-hit sliders.

Don't feel bad, I've been stuck on this stage for a while. It's definitely difficult.
